Self-Hosted MongoDB Platform
- Owned end-to-end lifecycle of self-hosted MongoDB on GKE using the Percona Operator, fully replacing MongoDB Atlas with in-house Kubernetes-based production deployments across all environments.
- Architected multi-region high availability across Mumbai and Delhi using Cluster-to-Cluster Sync (MCS), supporting both asynchronous read replicas and synchronous replication.
- Led migration of approximately 1 TB of production workloads from Atlas to self-hosted Percona clusters using ClusterSync, and configured Percona Backup for MongoDB (PBM) with Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) via oplog streaming to Google Cloud Storage.
MongoDB Autoscaling Operator
- Independently designed and built, end-to-end, a custom Kubernetes operator in Python that autoscales self-hosted MongoDB using metrics-server and PMM metrics.
- Manages dedicated on-demand nodepools that scale from zero on spot-based GKE clusters, sizing capacity to account for DaemonSet and sidecar overhead.
