About Modo Energy
The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.
We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.
Founded in 2019, we're 90+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.
This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.
Joining Modo means three things:
- We own the outcome, not the title. At Modo, you identify what needs doing and you do it - full responsibility for the work, the quality, and the outcome. This is a seat on a small, high-performing team: real autonomy, a warm market, and a product that's already the reference standard for battery storage globally.
- We build the standard, not a workaround. We hire people who apply broad intelligence to new problems rather than pattern-matching to past ones. Your habits and playbook become the template as the team scales - this role shapes how Modo Energy sells in APAC, not just how you sell.
- We stay close to the market. The customer is the most important person in everything we do, and that starts with you. Your proximity to customers makes you one of our best signals - insight flows back into product and research, not just into a CRM field. You'll be immersed in the energy sector, building a foundational network and feeding continuous insight back to the team.
If you're driven by ownership, pace, and building best in class approaches to the customer journey, we want to hear from you.
The Role
Modo Energy is hiring an Account Executive to own new business across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. You'll run the full sales cycle - from first conversation to signed contract - selling our data and analytics platform to the investors, developers, and operators building the energy transition.
This is an early seat on a small, high-performing sales team. You'll have real autonomy, a warm market to work with, and a product that's already the reference standard for battery storage globally. The people you're selling to have heard of Modo Energy; your job is to convert that awareness into revenue.
What You'll Do
- Strategise, Plan and Execute on your book of business. Owning the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, demo, negotiation, and close.
- Build and manage a pipeline of mid-market and enterprise accounts across APAC
- Deliver compelling demonstrations of the Modo Energy Terminal, connecting product capability directly to customer problems
- Negotiate and close deals valued between $60,000 and $300,000
- Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within your book of business
- Forecast accurately in HubSpot and maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene
- Feed customer insight back into product and go-to-market strategy
- Represent Modo Energy at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
What You Bring
- 5+ years of full-cycle B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally selling data, research, or analytics products.
- A track record of hitting quota in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Experience managing complex, multi-threaded deals (broadly in the $60k–$300k range).
- The ability to translate technical product value into commercial language - for a trader, a developer, and a CFO alike.
- Comfort with ambiguity - energised by building a playbook, not just running one.
- Energy market experience is a strong plus, not a requirement.
What's In It For You
- Real ownership from day one. Working alongside leaders in the industry, inside a company defining a new category in the global energy market.
- A warm market and a product with proof. You're not creating demand from nothing - you're converting recognition into revenue.
- Direct exposure to building with AI. Ko, our AI analyst, is central to how the whole company works - every person at Modo uses it and makes it better. You'll build real AI-sector experience, using every tool available to cover more ground than a traditional sales role allows.
- Pay that reflects your personal market value, not a title band
- An in-person environment built for people who want to build, not coast. Hybrid (Tuesday to Thursday in office) across our London, New York, Madrid, and Sydney offices. Sydney CBD location at Grosvenor Place by Circular Quay.
