DirectorJob Description & Summary
At PwC Australia, we recognise the power of transformation and the potential of human-centred innovation. We're looking for an Advisory Technology Director to own and drive the technology strategy, investment, and governance that powers our Advisory practice. In this role, you'll serve as the critical bridge between business priorities and technology execution—partnering with the CTO, CIO, Tech Hub, and Advisory leadership to ensure our solutions are architecturally sound, secure, and scalable.
Why PwC?
At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health, giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.
Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.
What you’ll do:
Define and own the Advisory technology strategy and roadmap — translating business priorities into executable plans, investment choices, and demand prioritization.
Provide technical leadership across initiatives — ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and follow repeatable technical patterns (e.g., agentic AI-enabled delivery frameworks).
Oversee technology delivery and manage Advisory technology spend — driving return on investment, change management, and portfolio prioritization.
Chair or support risk governance forums — ensuring compliance with global and Australian technology, data, and security requirements.
Guide and challenge technical designs — offering credible, commercially aware direction to teams on architecture, engineering, and delivery approaches.
Align priorities and roadmaps across the firm — translating complex technical considerations into practical, actionable business choices for senior stakeholders.
Coach and uplift team capability — embedding engineering disciplines, AI-enabled ways of working, and modern data practices; collaborating with the Managed Services Technology Director on solution transitions.
What we’re looking for:
Technology strategy development, roadmap creation, and demand prioritization
Solution architecture, technical design review, and delivery oversight
AI-enabled delivery, data products, automation, and platform design patterns
Technology investment management, value realization, and portfolio governance
Technology and data risk governance, policy compliance, and control uplift
Stakeholder facilitation — translating business needs into scalable technical solutions
Experience leading technical teams across engineering, data, automation, or platform initiatives
Background in technology governance, risk management, data governance, or responsible AI practices
Architecture, cloud, AI, data, agile, DevOps, security, or service management certifications preferred but not essential.
What you’ll gain:
Executive leadership development programs and personalised coaching designed to help you lead with impact, inspire teams, and accelerate your career to the highest levels.
A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.
Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work—balancing what's best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.
Being part of a community united by purpose, delivering impact that reaches clients, communities, and the future you're shaping.
