Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation across business functions (e.g., operations, HR, engineering, sales)
- Support development and testing of AI tools (e.g., copilots, chatbots, data models, workflow automations)
- Conduct research on AI technologies, tools, and trends relevant to business use cases
- Help gather, organize, and prepare data for use in AI models and analytics
- Participate in pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Document processes, findings, and results of AI initiatives
- Assist with governance and responsible AI practices (data privacy, appropriate use)
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand workflows and identify improvement opportunities
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership
Learning & Development Opportunities
- Exposure to enterprise AI strategy and governance
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, or similar technologies
- Understanding of how AI is applied in manufacturing and engineered-to-order environments
- Experience working cross-functionally in a business setting
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Data Science / Analytics
- Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)
- Information Systems or related field
- Strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
- Basic knowledge of:
- Python, SQL, or similar (preferred but not required)
- Data analysis or visualization tools
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with AI/ML concepts or coursework
- Familiarity with tools such as:
- Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps
- ChatGPT, Copilot, or other AI platforms
- Exposure to process improvement or Lean concepts

Internship Details

The AI Initiatives Intern will support the organization’s efforts to identify, develop, and implement artificial intelligence (AI) and automation solutions that improve business processes, efficiency, and data insights. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world AI applications within a manufacturing environment, working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, HR, and business teams.
