The HVDC & FACTS Tender Specialist is a key contributor in securing strategic transmission and grid stability projects by leading end-to-end tendering activities for HVDC, FACTS, EPC, and reference solution-based proposals. This role combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen to develop winning techno-commercial proposals aligned with customer requirements and business objectives. Acting as the central point of accountability throughout the bidding process, you will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, finance, legal, and project execution to deliver high-quality, competitive, and compliant bids.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full lifecycle of tendering activities forHVDC, FACTS, EPC, and reference solution-based projects, including STATCOM, SVC, and series compensation solutions.
Analyze RFQs/RFPs to define winning bid strategies that integrate technical solutions with commercial positioning.
Develop, drive, and monitor tender schedules to ensure alignment with submission deadlines and internal governance milestones.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional, global teams across engineering, procurement, commercial, finance, legal, and project execution functions.
Prepare and review technical and commercial proposal documents, including specifications, SLDs, control philosophies, cost estimates, and clarifications.
Ensure technical compliance for HVDC and FACTS systems and support EPC execution strategy and reference solution application within the tender process.
Develop competitive pricing strategies by balancing risk exposure, market dynamics, customer expectations, and business objectives.
Lead the evaluation and consolidation of supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring technical alignment and commercial competitiveness.
Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, commercial, contractual, and execution risks associated with HVDC, FACTS, EPC, and reference solution tenders.
Act as the primary customer interface during the tender phase, supporting technical discussions, clarifications, presentations, and negotiations.
Ensure compliance with internal governance, approval processes, and quality standards throughout the tender lifecycle.
Maintain complete documentation and traceability of assumptions, decisions, approvals, and bid submissions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with specialization in Power Systems.
10–15+ years of relevant experience inHVDC, FACTS, EPC, utility-scale transmission, grid infrastructure, or reference solution development projects.
Proven experience in tendering, bid management, project engineering, or EPC/turnkey environments.
Strong understanding of HVDC technologies, FACTS technologies, and power system fundamentals.
Experience with international projects, customer specifications, grid codes, and utility requirements.
Understanding of EPC execution principles, contract frameworks, and commercial risk management.
Experience with or exposure toreference solutions / standardization frameworksis highly desirable.
Technical Expertise Required
HVDC technologies: VSC and LCC systems
FACTS technologies: STATCOM, SVC, and series compensation
EPC / turnkey project tendering
Reference solution application and standardization
Power system studies: load flow, stability, harmonics, and grid compliance
Contract frameworks such as FIDIC or similar
