Location: Allington Court Care Home - Lye Lane, St Albans , AL2 3TN
Salary: £14.09 - £15.59 per hour depending on experience
Contract: Bank - zero hours

About Allington Court Care Home:
Allington Court is a purpose-built dementia care home. The home is dedicated to caring for adults living with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs, including nursing, residential, Parkinson's and short-stay care. Advanced bookings available for short-stay care.
Everything is on one floor, and the building has a circular design. This gives every room garden access, making it easier for residents to find their own way round. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, with colour themes and memory triggers.
With the help of their loved ones, staff build a picture of their life story and their likes and dislikes. Staff can then personalise care and help them live the way they want to. Communication and engagement are a big part of life here, too. So, if your loved one finds it easier to use signs and symbols to communicate, the team are happy to use Makaton.
There’s always lots going on within the welcoming community. Activities are run seven days a week and frequently join neighbouring Bupa care home, Tenterden House (offering nursing and residential care), for a range of engaging events and the occasional themed meal.

Key Skills / Qualifications:
A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home. Open to new ideas, you’ll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards. You’ll enjoy communicating with others and you’ll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.
