POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Project Engineer supports DrinkPAK’s Engineering Services and capital project teams by executing a broad range of entry-level engineering tasks—from document control and CAD support to field coordination, data management, and project administration. This role creates order, structure, and traceability across engineering documentation, master data, and technical standards while providing active, hands-on support to Project Managers and Senior Engineers throughout all phases of capital projects. The Assistant Project Engineer is a key contributor to keeping projects organized, compliant, and moving forward. This role is an Engineering Support & Project Coordination Leader.

LOCATION: The position is based at DrinkPak’s Headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the engineering document library, including naming conventions, metadata standards, revision control, and as-built accuracy across all active and completed projects.
• Build and update functional design specifications, capability matrices, technical bid packages, and engineering reference documents.
• Support CAD updates, drawing management, redlines, and vendor documentation intake; ensure all drawings meet DrinkPAK standards.
• Manage engineering master data—including equipment lists, tag lists, and BOMs—ensuring alignment across ERP, CMMS, and project systems.
• Assist Project Managers with project tracking, schedule updates, action item logs, meeting minutes, and status reporting.
• Support RFQ preparation and bid package assembly; coordinate vendor submittal intake, review, and distribution to the engineering team.
• Perform field coordination activities, including site walks, punch list tracking, contractor sign-ins, and photo documentation during construction and commissioning phases.
• Implement document control processes, version control practices, and document lifecycle workflows consistent with industry standards.
• Coordinate distribution, access control, and archival of controlled documents across Engineering Services, Projects, and Operations.
• Validate vendor submittals, technical manuals, and engineering packages for completeness and compliance.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and engineering governance activities by preparing accurate documentation packages.
• Maintain and troubleshoot document management systems and digital repositories.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and OEM partners to ensure documentation and project coordination requirements are met throughout all project phases.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Information Management, Drafting/CAD, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• At least 2 years of experience in engineering document control, project coordination, CAD support, or similar entry-level engineering roles.​
• Strong understanding of document control practices, version control, and document lifecycle workflows.
• Experience with engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation; proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar) preferred.
• Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Procore, MasterControl) and metadata standards.
• Ability to manage master data (equipment lists, tag lists, BOMs) with high accuracy and consistency.
• Basic understanding of capital project phases, construction sequencing, and commissioning workflows.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain data integrity across multiple systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, project management, OEMs, and operations teams.
• Process-oriented mindset with the ability to create structure, standardization, and repeatable workflows.
