Onsite
At Alleima's Business Unit Medical, we turn advanced materials and engineering expertise into solutions that change lives. Partnering with the world's leading medical device innovators, we design, develop, and manufacture components and medical solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in medical technology, from continuous glucose monitors to cochlear implants. Join our team in Palm Coast, FL, and bring your automation expertise to an on-site role where your work helps keep critical production systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
About the role
As an Automation and Controls Engineer, you will implement and maintain machine control systems and support the design and manufacture of semi and fully automated processes based on business needs. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment uptime, supporting new product and process development, and helping advance automation capabilities across our medical manufacturing environment.
About you
You bring strong analytical and mathematical skills and are comfortable solving complex electrical control system problems in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting machinery, including situations where schematics may be limited, and you can work effectively with legacy machinery as well as newer automated systems. Your background includes familiarity with common PLCs such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and ideally certification in Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC programming. You also understand board-level electronics, motor controllers and drives, safety systems, temperature controllers, industrial communication protocols, network configurations, electrical cabinet design, and a range of motor types including AC/DC, 3 phase, stepper, and servo.
You are organized, capable of keeping projects and processes on track, and confident in reading electrical schematics, with the ability to create supporting drawings and documentation for equipment builds being a strong advantage. A bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis on electrical engineering skills, or equivalent work experience, together with substantial hands-on experience troubleshooting machinery, will help you succeed in this role. You should also be willing to travel about 30% and feel comfortable working across cultures using digital tools. Just as importantly, you are someone who values expertise, continuous learning, and practical problem-solving, and you are motivated by the opportunity to help refine and improve systems together with a collaborative engineering team.
