The Automation Lead is responsible for leading and driving automation, control systems, and digitalization initiatives at the Szarvas seed processing facility.
This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of automation systems, while aligning with Corteva standards and operational priorities. The position combines strategic direction with hands-on technical leadership, playing a key role in optimizing production processes and enabling future-ready operations.
Main responsibilities:
- Automation Strategy & Standards (30%)
Define and implement the site automation strategy in alignment with Corteva standards. Ensure standardization, scalability, and integration of control systems across all operations. - System Reliability & Performance (25%)
Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of automation and control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI). Lead troubleshooting of complex issues and drive sustainable solutions. - Continuous Improvement & Digitalization (20%)
Identify and lead automation and digitalization projects to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. Support advanced data usage and process optimization initiatives. - Project Management (10%)
Lead and support automation-related capital and improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and compliance with safety and quality standards. - Team Leadership & Capability Building (10%)
Guide and develop automation engineers and technicians. Build internal capabilities and ensure knowledge sharing across the team. - Collaboration & Stakeholder Management (5%)
Collaborate with production, maintenance, EHS, and regional engineering teams. Support alignment with global automation strategies and best practices.

Location:

Requirements:
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and control systems
- Experience in project management and system integration
- Experience in a multinational, matrix organization is an advantage
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
- Good communication skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
