Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeler with a strong background in electrical substation design to contribute to the delivery of high-quality BIM projects in accordance with ISO-19650 and our clients' requirements. As a BIM Engineer, you will work under the direction of the BIM Coordinator or Project BIM Manager and be responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models for high-voltage substations. Your focus will be ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and coordination of BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain 3D models for electrical substations of Indoor and Outdoor, including Layout, Electrical apparatus, equipment’s, civil input, Clamps and connectors, lightning, lighting, earthing, cable tray & routing, clearances, security, ...
Act as a key team member for the execution of BIM processes, ensuring compliance with project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including internal factories, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment of designs and resolve clashes.
Manage and optimize shared Revit models in a cloud-based environment, including Revit Cloud Work sharing and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC Docs).
Issue resolution using ACC Docs
Produce 3D visualizations, basic and detailed drawings, and technical documentation to support design reviews and construction planning.
Use families, templates, and standard objects for the BIM library, ensuring alignment with central BIM processes.
Support the BIM Coordinator in conducting model audits and quality control checks to ensure adherence to BIM standards and protocols.
Ensure the appropriate Level of Detail (min. LOD-350) is maintained throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
Stay updated on the latest developments in BIM software and workflows and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with a minimum 4+ years of experience on Substation project engineering.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical equipment modeling, family creation, and template management.
Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, including Docs and Model Coordination modules and Navisworks Manage.
Understanding of BIM standards, including ISO 19650 and IFC file formats.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tasks in a collaborative environment.
Professional communication skills for liaising with team members and external stakeholders.
Specialized Competency (Add-on)
Project Engineering working experience with AIS/ GIS Substations,
Project Engineering working knowledge with HVDC/FACTS integrated project applications will be preferred.
Experience with additional CAD tools like MicroStation, Primtech, Aveva-3D, SmartPlant-3D, Inventor, or SolidWorks is advantageous.
