Role purpose
As our Business Continuity Analyst for APAC, you will play an important part in embedding and operating our Business Continuity Management programme across the region. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will provide hands-on support to our Global Operations Centre and work with teams across APAC to strengthen their readiness and resilience.
This is a practical delivery role with plenty of variety and regional exposure. You will work directly with operational teams, product and service owners, technology teams and regional leaders to complete Business Impact Analyses, maintain continuity plans, coordinate exercises and help resolve identified weaknesses.
You will work closely with our Business Continuity Analyst in Romania, providing effective coverage across APAC and EMEA. Both roles report to the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager and operate to a shared framework, methodology and delivery plan. You will also support ISO 22301 certification and surveillance activity by helping ensure that documentation, exercise records, corrective actions and other evidence remain complete, current and accessible.
Key responsibilities
1. Business Impact Analysis
- Facilitate and maintain Business Impact Analyses with APAC teams, identifying critical activities, recovery priorities and key dependencies.
- Review and challenge BIA information to ensure it is complete, consistent and reflects current operations.
- Track BIA reviews and actions through to completion using our approved methodology.
2. Business continuity planning
- Support teams to develop and maintain practical business continuity plans aligned with their BIAs.
- Ensure plans clearly set out ownership, escalation, communications, dependencies and recovery actions.
- Coordinate plan reviews following material change and escalate significant gaps or overdue actions.
3. Exercising and testing
- Help deliver the APAC exercise programme, including tabletop exercises, walkthroughs and proportionate simulations.
- Assist in developing realistic scenarios, facilitate exercises and produce clear records of outcomes and lessons.
- Track agreed actions and support combined continuity, disaster recovery, cyber, crisis or supplier exercises where required.
4. Kuala Lumpur GOC and APAC support
- Act as the principal day-to-day BCM contact for the Kuala Lumpur Global Operations Centre and provide practical support to APAC plan owners.
- Coordinate local BCMS activity and maintain awareness of regional issues that may affect our services or locations.
- Support teams during disruption, coordinate escalation and share relevant information with the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager and EMEA analyst.
5. ISO 22301 and BCMS support
- Support the operation and continual improvement of our BCMS, maintaining documentation and evidence for ISO 22301.
- Help APAC teams prepare for audits and coordinate complete, current evidence for submission.
- Support the recording and closure of findings and provide accurate regional information for management review and certification activity.
6. Risk, dependencies and disaster recovery
- Identify and record continuity risks, critical dependencies and gaps between recovery requirements and available capability.
- Work with relevant teams on supplier, technology and service dependencies, escalating significant concerns through the appropriate process.
- Help align BIA requirements with disaster recovery arrangements and support business participation in recovery tests.
7. Incident support, reporting and engagement
- Provide BCM support during significant disruption, maintaining clear records and assisting with post-incident reviews without taking ownership of operational command.
- Maintain accurate records and provide concise updates on APAC plans, exercises, findings, risks and corrective actions.
- Build effective relationships with regional stakeholders and explain continuity requirements in clear, practical language.
- Deliver proportionate guidance and awareness activity, sharing lessons and good practice across APAC and EMEA.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Practical experience in business continuity, operational resilience, disaster recovery, incident management or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting Business Impact Analyses, continuity plans, exercises or recovery tests.
- Able to facilitate discussions with operational and technical stakeholders and build effective working relationships across functions and regions.
- Good understanding of recovery requirements, operational dependencies and continuity risks.
- Able to produce clear, accurate documentation and concise updates in written and spoken English.
- Organised and analytical, with the confidence to manage actions, follow up commitments and escalate material issues appropriately.
- Comfortable working independently within a geographically distributed team and using Microsoft 365 tools to maintain records and trackers.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of ISO 22301 or experience supporting an ISO management system, audit or certification programme.
- Experience in a SaaS, technology, shared-service or customer-support environment.
- Understanding of disaster recovery, IT service continuity, major incident management or enterprise risk processes.
- Experience supporting teams across multiple APAC countries.

- Collaborative and comfortable working with operational teams across cultures, locations and time zones.
- Curious and able to understand how services, technology and suppliers depend on one another.
- Constructive and confident when challenging incomplete information or following up actions.
