Business Development Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to grow new business across the legal sector and selected corporate industries. You’ll lead solution-based sales conversations, build senior stakeholder relationships, and create tailored product packages that address customer needs.

This role has a strong focus on prospecting, new-logo acquisition, pipeline growth, and delivering revenue and activity targets.

Responsibilities

• Identify, target, and acquire new business opportunities across legal and selected corporate sectors.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations, both in person and virtually.
• Research prospective clients and industries to shape relevant solution packages.
• Drive sector-specific sales campaigns and contribute to marketing-led activities.
• Represent the business at industry events, seminars, and conferences; generate and follow up on leads.
• Build relationships with law societies, bar associations, chambers, and other industry bodies.
• Manage the sales pipeline with timely follow-up, accurate forecasting, and clear reporting.
• Balance prospecting, customer engagement, follow-ups, and reporting through effective diary management.
• Meet revenue and activity targets.
• Expand the account base through proactive networking and new-logo acquisition.
• Analyse market trends, sales data, and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
• Provide regular updates to management on account performance, forecasts, and key metrics.

Requirements

• At least three years’ experience in business development, solution selling, or B2B sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets in commission-driven environments.
• Experience in software, insurance, telecommunications, legal technology, risk and compliance, or subscription-based services is preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence engaging senior executives, partners, and decision-makers.
• Excellent English communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• A self-motivated and disciplined approach, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Experience using CRM platforms and sales tools to manage accounts, leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
• A Law or Business degree is advantageous, alongside the ability to understand legal and technical solutions.
• Legal, governance, risk, or compliance experience is advantageous.
