Business Development Representative

The Role

As a Japanese-speaking Business Development Representative (all genders), you will sit at the forefront of Lucanet's go-to-market strategy in Asia, driving outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and opportunity creation across Singapore and Japan. As Lucanet continues to expand its presence in Japan, you'll play a key role in identifying and engaging prospective customers fluently in both Japanese and English across both markets. You will be the first point of contact for potential customers, building relationships with finance and business leaders, uncovering their challenges, and creating high-quality opportunities for our Account Executives. You'll work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to execute territory plans and campaigns. We look for people who keep growing, take real ownership, and lift the people around them.

What you'll do

• Identify and engage prospective customers across Singapore and Japan through phone, email, LinkedIn, and social selling.
• Research target accounts and stakeholders to deliver personalized, relevant outreach.
• Build relationships with Japanese-speaking and English-speaking prospects to generate new business opportunities.
• Qualify prospects against ideal customer profile, business challenges, buying intent, and solution fit.
• Schedule meetings and create sales-qualified opportunities for Account Executives.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations on territory plans and account-based initiatives.
• Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity records in the CRM.
• Refine outreach messaging based on market feedback and campaign performance.

You have:

• Initial experience in business development, outbound sales, lead generation, or another customer-facing commercial role, or a strong desire to build a career in B2B SaaS sales.
• Fluency in Japanese and English, confident engaging business stakeholders in both.
• Confidence initiating conversations with new contacts, including senior finance and business decision-makers.
• Strong communication, listening, and discovery skills to uncover business needs.
• A proactive, resilient, target-oriented mindset, comfortable in a high-activity outbound environment.

It's a plus if you also have:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail across follow-ups, pipeline, and CRM hygiene.
• Interest in SaaS, finance technology, or complex business domains.
• Experience working with Japanese customers or within Japanese business environments.
