Business Operations Associate

## **About Mach9** Every road, fiber route, transmission line, and data center starts with a survey. A surveyor measures the world, then turns those measurements into the CAD blueprint engineers build from. Mach9 makes AI CAD software for civil engineering that helps surveyors create the blueprint drawing in a fraction of the time. The fact is simple: infrastructure software hasn't had a major breakthrough since the 1980s. Critical infrastructure projects are still being designed through decades-old software and disconnected workflows. Mach9 is betting AI-assisted drafting and surveying workflows are the missing link towards making infrastructure projects progress at the speed and scale the world needs. Mach9 [is backed by](https://techcrunch.com/2024/11/14/mach9-is-equipping-infrastructure-operators-with-better-information/) Quiet Capital, Y Combinator, Overmatch Ventures, Kyle Vogt (founder of Cruise), Amar Hanspal (former CEO of Autodesk), Scott Belsky (CPO of Adobe), Gokul Rajaram (former executive at DoorDash), and more. ## **About the Position** Mach9 is hiring two Business Operations Associates to own key processes, solve new operating problems, and help the company scale. This is a doer’s role. You’ll often do something by hand several times, understand exactly how it works, and then decide what should be automated, systematized, or improved, all at Mach9 speed. You will solve problems across finance, sales, customer support, revenue operations, and other parts of the company. This is a 100% in-office position with no hybrid option. You will report to the Head of Business Operations and Finance. _ **Your responsibilities will include:** _ - Run recurring operating processes across areas such as order forms and quote-to-cash, billing, accounts receivable, variable compensation, customer setup, and customer operations. - Build and maintain reporting, dashboards, OKRs, and analysis that help the company understand what is happening and make better decisions. - Take ambiguous operating problems, determine what is happening, identify what needs to change, and drive the solution through execution. - Turn solutions into working processes, including workflows, systems, documentation, controls, and recurring execution. - Run manual or imperfect processes while identifying opportunities to simplify, improve, automate, or eliminate unnecessary work. - Provide general project management and problem-solving across the company.   ## **About You** You are a Swiss Army knife—a generalist who is comfortable jumping into whatever the business needs, figuring out how it works, and making it better. You dream in spreadsheets and justify your thinking with numbers. You are analytical, practical, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves to do the work yourself. _ **You should have:** _ - 3+ years of work experience in business operations, consulting, finance, strategy, or another highly analytical and execution-oriented environment. - A bachelor’s degree, ideally in a quantitative field such as statistics, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another STEM or analytical discipline. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You can use data to understand an ambiguous problem, form a point of view, and decide what to do next. - A strong bias toward action. If something is your responsibility, you make sure it gets done rather than waiting for a perfect playbook. - Curiosity about AI and new tools, with an instinct to experiment with ways to automate work, improve your analysis, and make yourself more productive. Mach9's team is smart, driven, ambitious, and committed to building a category-defining company. This role offers unusually broad exposure to how a fast-growing company actually operates—and the opportunity to make meaningful parts of it work better.   ## **Compensation & Benefits** Mach9 offers a competitive compensation package that includes: - Competitive salary: $120k to $150k, based on experience - Equity ownership in Mach9 - 100% employee coverage for medical, dental, and vision - 401k - Unlimited PTO and 8 paid holidays - Daily office lunch and snacks - Unlimited Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude credits - Monthly team offsites: Go-karting, Topgolf, etc.   Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
