The Role

The GP Stakes Value Creation Group is seeking a motivated professional to join the Hong Kong-based value creation team. The individual will be a fluent Japanese speaker and will support the Capital Strategy function, partnering closely with senior members of the team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the private markets industry and a strong interest in developing deep relationships across the local investor community.

This individual will be a self-starter who is comfortable working across a variety of projects and initiatives, helping to strengthen the team's connectivity with the limited partner community throughout the Asia Pacific region. The role offers broad exposure to investor engagement, market development activities, and strategic initiatives that support the continued growth of the GP Stakes Value Creation Group platform.

Responsibilities

• Act as support to the existing senior team in managing relationships with local investors while developing a strong understanding of their allocation priorities and interests.
• Collect and relay investor intelligence to our client’s Partner Managers as it relates to their current products and/or new product development and spearheading a range of related projects (terms benchmarking, product feasibility analysis, regulatory environment).
• Help Partner Managers in identifying geographies and investor segments of potential growth; Eventually take the lead on maintaining a regular dialogue with investors and keeping them up to date on our client’s Partner Managers’ activities and fundraises.
• Drive LP data analytics using a variety of subscription databases and perform detailed analysis on key investors, their alternatives appetite, and industry trends.
• Organize events highlighting Partner Managers’ CIOs / Senior Investment Professionals in front of an audience of local/regional investors.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic credentials; MBA, CFA/CAIA or other advanced degree a plus.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese and English is a must have.
• 3-8 years' experience at a private markets firm, asset management firm or fund placement firm.
• 3-8 years' experience with both capital raises and IR functionality at alternative firms.
• Leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency.
• Strong working knowledge of private markets strategies and firms; high degree of intellectual curiosity about the alternatives industry and its business dynamics.
• Able to travel extensively in the APAC region and work independently.
• Self-starting attitude and entrepreneurial spirit balanced with a commitment to teamwork.
• Leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency.
