Chief of Staff to the Chief Commercial Officer / CEO Lloyd's Americas - 12 Month FTC

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.

Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.

How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.

We're looking for a maternity cover starting January 2027 for a 12 Month FTC as Chief of Staff to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) / CEO Lloyd's Americas, helping to shape and drive the Commercial agenda at the heart of the Lloyd’s Insurance Market.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a C-suite executive, influencing strategic decisions, accelerating delivery, and helping to shape the future of one of the most influential organisations in global financial services.

The opportunity

You'll be a trusted adviser, strategic partner and catalyst for execution. You'll help turn ambitious commercial priorities into meaningful outcomes, working across the Commercial Leadership Team and engaging with senior stakeholders throughout Lloyd’s, the insurance market and beyond.

You'll bring insight, challenge and judgement to some of the most important strategic conversations across Lloyd’s. From leading high-profile initiatives to preparing the CCO for Executive and Council discussions, you'll help ensure focus, alignment and momentum across a complex and fast-moving environment.

What you'll be doing

You'll:

• Partner closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, providing strategic advice, challenge and insight across a broad portfolio of responsibilities.
• Help shape and translate Commercial strategy into clear priorities, plans and measurable outcomes.
• Lead and coordinate high-profile strategic initiatives, change programmes and cross-functional activities.
• Drive alignment across the Commercial Leadership Team, ensuring priorities, dependencies and decisions remain connected.
• Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations and recommendations for Executive, Council and governance forums.
• Represent the CCO and Commercial function with credibility and influence across internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Coordinate the operational rhythm of the Commercial function, including governance, planning, reporting and leadership activities.
• Provide clear oversight of performance, risks and delivery, enabling informed and timely decision-making.
• Build strong partnerships across Lloyd’s and the wider market to help advance Commercial priorities and outcomes.

What we're looking for

You'll bring a combination of strategic thinking, commercial insight and the ability to influence at the most senior levels.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience within insurance, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• An understanding of the Lloyd’s market, insurance and reinsurance sector, with the ability to quickly build deep global market knowledge.
• Experience advising a C-suite executive or senior leadership team within a complex organisation.
• A track record of shaping strategy and translating it into delivery.
• Experience leading cross-functional programmes, business transformation or organisational change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including preparing materials for Executive, Board or equivalent governance audiences.
• Strong judgement, discretion and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.

What sets this role apart

This role offers a rare combination of strategic influence, organisational visibility and direct exposure to Executive leadership.

You'll work at the centre of decision-making, helping shape priorities that impact the Lloyd’s market globally. You'll bring people together, solve complex challenges, and ensure ideas become action.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
