Remote only
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Finance Manager based in Canada.
As a Corporate Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role within a growing Finance team, partnering with senior leadership on forecasting, planning, reporting, and strategic analysis. You’ll own recurring FP&A cycles and help ensure budgets, forecasts, and financial plans remain accurate, rigorous, and actionable. The role offers significant autonomy, with the expectation that you can frame ambiguous problems, build solutions from the ground up, and bring recommendations to leadership. You’ll translate complex financial data into clear stories and insights for executive, board, and business audiences. A strong interest in AI is central to the role, with opportunities to automate reporting, improve financial models, and scale Finance workflows. You’ll work closely with teams across the organization while developing a deep understanding of business performance, growth, margins, and risks. This is a remote-first opportunity suited to a proactive finance professional who combines analytical depth, precision, curiosity, and strong business judgment.
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes end to end, including forecasting calendars, key milestones, and long-term financial modeling.
Build a strong understanding of the business model, growth drivers, margin dynamics, financial risks, and key operating levers, translating financial results into meaningful business insights.
Prepare and contribute to executive and board-level reporting, including performance analyses, presentations, financial commentary, and strategic decision support.
Develop and maintain consolidated income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow models, with rigorous actual-versus-expected analysis and data-driven variance commentary.
Support the development and delivery of short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans through a structured and collaborative planning process.
Own and improve the company-wide operating expense budgeting process at the general ledger and department level, partnering with department leaders, Accounting, and People teams on planning and approvals.
Establish effective budget controls and inspection mechanisms, including budget logs, approval thresholds, and plan-to-actual GL mapping.
Build and maintain financial models, reports, and analyses supporting strategic initiatives and important business decisions.
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and proactively surface risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior Finance leaders and business partners.
Identify and implement AI-enabled automation across reporting, modeling, variance analysis, and presentation workflows, while ensuring every output is thoroughly reviewed and verified.
Standardize and scale recurring Finance processes by improving reporting mechanisms and planning and forecasting systems.
Maintain a high standard of accuracy and quality control by incorporating reconciliations, review checkpoints, and self-review practices into all deliverables.
5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, finance business partnering, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting, accounting, or a related analytical field, with Manager-level ownership or equivalent scope.
Strong understanding of financial statements and how the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow connect.
Demonstrated experience owning recurring deliverables for senior audiences across multiple reporting or planning cycles.
Proven ability to build or significantly redesign financial models and processes from the ground up rather than simply operating established systems.
Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities, including experience working with large and detailed datasets.
Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and strong presentation and slide-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn complex analysis into concise insights, recommendations, and compelling financial narratives.
Strong business partnering skills and the ability to build productive relationships with leaders outside Finance.
Demonstrated independent ownership, judgment, and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with ambiguity or limited precedent.
Exceptional attention to detail and quality control, with a strong habit of validating models, presentations, source data, and calculations before delivery.
Proactive communication and strong work-planning skills, including the ability to manage timelines, identify risks early, and consistently deliver on commitments.
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar technologies to automate workflows, accelerate analysis, improve modeling, or scale financial deliverables.
Strong curiosity about AI and a willingness to experiment with emerging tools while maintaining full accountability for the accuracy and quality of the resulting work.
Ability to learn quickly, operate at pace, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of unfamiliar problems.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or another quantitative discipline.
Experience with planning systems such as NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan, or Adaptive is a plus.
SQL or BI experience, reporting and planning automation, and familiarity with e-commerce, marketplace, or retail business models are advantageous.
Experience across both public and high-growth private companies, as well as an MBA or CPA, is considered a plus.
Starting salary range of C$147,000 to C$176,375, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
Potential for salary growth tied to performance and role development.
Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts.
Generous paid parental leave and paid time off.
Winter Wonder Week: a company-wide paid week off at the end of the year.
Remote work stipend to support a home office setup.
Perks supporting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, parenting, childcare, and financial planning.
Remote-first working environment across Canada.
Access to leading AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT from the start of employment.
Opportunities for career advancement and performance-based progression.
Strong investment in training, technology, data, and professional development.
Meaningful opportunity to work on AI-enabled Finance transformation and automation.
Collaborative environment with regular opportunities to build relationships across teams.
Twice-yearly company-wide gatherings to strengthen collaboration and team connections.
Inclusive and supportive workplace committed to accessible recruitment and accommodation
