Job Description

Successful Candidates will be located in Edison, New Jersey

We’re looking for a hands-on Field Technician to lead a team delivering residential energy efficiency and weatherization upgrades across New Jersey.

This is a great opportunity for a top tech who wants to step up, run their own crew, and make more money—without getting stuck behind a desk.

You’ll continue to work in the field while developing your leadership skills—coaching your crew, owning job quality, and helping scale a fast-growing operation.

What You’ll Do

• Lead from the front – oversee and work alongside a crew of technicians performing residential upgrades (insulation, air sealing, efficiency improvements)

• Coach and develop your team – train technicians on best practices, safety, and quality standards

• Own job quality and productivity – ensure projects are completed correctly, efficiently, and to program standards

• Solve real-world problems – troubleshoot installation challenges and recommend practical solutions on-site

• Represent the company in the field – build trust with homeowners and partners while driving program participation

• Track and communicate progress – document work, capture inspection results, and keep operations teams informed

Why This Role Stands Out

• Step up into leadership without leaving the field

• Earn more with a competitive hourly rate ($32–$35/hr) and growth potential

• Clear career path into Field Operations Management

• Work with purpose – help homeowners save energy and improve comfort

• Be part of a growing operation with strong utility partnerships

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years in home improvement or skilled trades (weatherization, HVAC, insulation, electrical, plumbing, etc.)

• Strong knowledge of home systems and residential construction

• Proven ability to lead or mentor others (formal or informal)

• A player/coach mindset – willing to work hands-on while leading a crew

• Problem solver who takes ownership and drives results

• BPI Certification (a plus, not required)

Who This Is Perfect For

• Lead techs ready to become Foreman or Crew Leads

• High-performing technicians looking to increase income and responsibility

• Trades professionals who want a long-term career path—not just another job
