Customer Project Technical Lead

- Understand needs & technical requirements, system/solution architectures, best practices and standards.
- Develop and/or support both conceptual application designs and detailed application designs/engineering studies."
Provides technical complex and strategic design, knowledge and knowhow for customers in a specific application domain. Provides technical expertise and mentoring, and helps customers to define their needs. Supervises technically a team of ADEs (<50% of his/her time) and may have some other team key responsibilities. Manages relationship with internal partners. Defines and provides commercial argumentation and reports potential risk.
"8 years relevant experience - Engineering Sales is focused on providing technical advice and support to sales teams and conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer specific pricing including: •Preparing and conducting technical sales briefings for customer and company representatives •Researching customer technical specifications and estimating the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the product or solution •Evaluating sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization’s quality standards •May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and conduct initial user training

Your responsibilities:  

The Project Technical Lead is part of the Front End team and works together with the Engineering as well as with the Project Management teams.  

He/She works on large/complex projects as subject matter expert for the design of the Gutor UPS solutions to provide technical solution and strategic design, knowledge and knowhow for customers.  

The Project Technical Lead has an advanced knowledge about the Gutor UPS solution (XXW, SDC, PXP, etc.) where assistance is provided to design engineer by developing independently technical solution for complex projects based on customer needs, quality aspects and cost efficiency. He/She provides technical expertise, mentoring and coaching to less experienced team members and manages relationship with internal partners.  

Besides this task he/she is part of the Front-End Team and supports the Head of Engineering on strategic topics and participates in internal projects to transform tools and processes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

3rd Party Supplier Management  

• Technical clarification with 3rd party suppliers  

Solution Support/Design  

For high demanding projects he contributes in the project team as subject matter experts for special complex designs. He works together with the (Senior) Application Designers/Engineers and Customer Project Technical Leaders/Managers and typically:  

• Reviews customer specifications and identification of special requirements  

• Supports the design engineer in evaluation of technical customer comments and the preparation of their reply  

• Ensures cost optimized engineering solutions, while maintaining a high-quality level  

• Prepares project specific technical documents (technical data, test-documents, calculations, …)  

• Programs PLC for special features  

• Improve effectiveness of Engineering’s internal tool and reduce non-value-added activity.  

• Standardize Engineering Solution for high running design.  

• Prepares non-standard instructions for manuals  

Team Support  

• Participates in Quote-To-Win activities launched for strategic project to ensure optimized and cost-effective designs. 

• Participates in Design Review session to impart experience for the benefit of the project. 

• Cross-check complex design solution as independent reviewer.  

• To review technical solutions by design engineers prior to escalation to Expertise and R&D. 

• Review and collaborate in Special Release request to R&D to ensure engineering feasibility.  

Internal Project  

Besides the improvement of the tools used in the Front End team he/she contributes on internal improvement projects in order to improve the work quality and efficiency. Depending on the complexity of these tasks he/she works independently or as part of a project team. The coordination and prioritization are done together with the sponsor or line manager in order to meet the company quality, sales, revenue, margin, customer satisfaction and safe & healthy objectives 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – REQUIRED  

• Technical Engineering Degree (Electrical)  

•   5 to 10 years in the electrical industry  

•   2 to 4 years’ experience in managing a team of skilled engineers 

•   Experience in designing large and/or complex projects independently 

•   Ability to work in a team  

•   Fluent in English (written and oral)  

•   Ability to handle several projects in parallel  

•   IT literate (Windows, MS Office )  

•   Experience in preparation of electrical drawings (EPLAN)  

•   Excellent UPS knowledge
