Summary
The Cyber & CE Information Technology Technician is responsible for supporting the management, integration, and cybersecurity of production medical equipment IT systems and connected device inventories (CDI). This position applies technical, industry, and business knowledge to support CDI projects, integration and network configuration initiatives, and the secure, compliant, and efficient operation of medical device networks. The role requires hands-on technical expertise and collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and client IT departments to resolve issues, implement solutions, and support continuous improvement in service operations.
Responsibilities
Connected Device & Medical Equipment support
• Support clinical engineering with the Connected Device Inventory (CDI), ensuring clinical equipment systems are inventoried, integrated, and maintained according to best practices and client requirements.
• Support integration projects, network configurations, and troubleshooting for medical devices and IT systems.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for reducing risk on networked and integrated medical devices, providing technical guidance and support for service repair requests.
• Develop, maintain, and follow procedures and documentation to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Evaluate and document medical device firmware configurations to support proper integration and system readiness before deployment.
• Monitor and track software revisions, upgrades, and system changes for medical equipment.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Execute cybersecurity field operations including vulnerability assessments, incident response activities, and compliance support.
• Support compliance with HIPAA, privacy laws, and industry security standards.
• Assist with backup, recovery, and data protection activities for CDI devices and systems.
• Remain current on evolving security, legislative, and regulatory changes related to healthcare cybersecurity.
Project & Program Support
• Support planning, maintenance, and administration of LAN/WAN-based and integrated medical equipment network devices.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to align technical activities with project goals.
• Prepare technical updates, documentation, and status inputs for reports and communications.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions to support technical decision-making and project outcomes.
Operational Support
• Ensure timely resolution of incidents and problems in accordance with established processes.
• Maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and training materials for integrated medical devices and systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to service performance and reliability.
• All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
• A minimum 3 years of experience in technology, biomedical, clinical engineering, or a related field is required; including at least 1 year supporting cybersecurity or related activities.
• Strong knowledge of medical equipment maintenance, repair, and clinical application of medical technologies.
• Experience with networking technologies, communication protocols (HL7, DICOM, TCP/IP), and healthcare information systems.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, security industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and medical asset management systems (e.g., RSQ, ServiceNow).
• Experience supporting projects, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.
Education and Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Industry standard certifications a plus (i.e. A+, Net+, Sec+).
Applicants can expect a compensation range of $34-$40for this opportunity. This is the reasonable estimate that TRIMEDX believes it might pay for this particular job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. TRIMEDX may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
