The Data Engineer II
Gathers and processes raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch processing frameworks, including healthcare and clinical data used for analytics, OMOP, and AI Solutions.
Develops moderate to advanced SQL coding assets including tables, views, stored procedures, user defined functions in collaboration with the Data Analyst and BI Developer while adhering to technical solution standards and demonstrating flexibility when required. Develops and supports data transformation utilizing the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) and healthcare terminology standards.
Develops and utilizes data testing processes to complete both unit testing and integration testing, collaborating with team members, to validate data solutions, including healthcare data quality and OMOP data validation.
Independently develops reference materials (database diagrams, flow charts, script documentation, etc.) for supported data processing technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.
Manages assigned projects and meets deadlines with minimal supervision from supervisor and/or manager.
Assists senior data engineers by creating training material for use in end-user training programs as well as development of team members
Serves as a technical mentor to other Data Engineers.
Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple technology teams while providing resolution to incidents and problems as escalated from the Technology Service Center.
Understands basic root cause analysis skills and techniques and performs such tasks with little to no assistance from senior data engineers.
Understands commonly used software development concepts (CI/CD, unit testing, publish-subscribe architecture, REST interfaces, etc.) and able to assist senior data engineers. Applies these concepts to modern healthcare data platforms and data pipelines supporting AI and Generative AI solutions.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a science discipline preferably computer science or information systems; or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in working with enterprise data and cloud technologies.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: A minimum of 2 of the following certifications are required: W3Schools SQL Certification, SnowPro Core Certification, Epic Caboodle ETL Certified Administrator, DAMA CDMP Associate, Talend Data Integration Certified Developer, Talend Big Data Certified Developer, Talend Cloud Certified Administrator, Python PCEP, Python PCAP, Python PCAD, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Data – Fundamentals
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and written/oral skills. Data profiling and data quality analysis experience preferred. Cloud data services, dimensional databases, cubes and columnar data structures experience preferred. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.

Compensation Range:
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
