Job Description
As the Data Product Manager for the Commercial Growth squad, you will partner with the Head of Data Product, Ad Sales to drive Nine’s revenue-focused data strategy. Your mission is to bridge the gap between high-level commercial goals and technical data execution. You will own product delivery workstreams dedicated to generating incremental revenue through the development of new data products, the expansion of strategic data partnerships, and the delivery of advanced targeting and segmentation capabilities that provide a competitive edge for Nine’s sales business.
What you’ll do:
Lead Agile Delivery: Act as the Product Manager for the Commercial Growth squad, managing the backlog and sprint planning to ensure engineering is focused on the highest-value commercial tasks.
Product Lifecycle & Enablement: Support the end-to-end lifecycle of audience targeting capabilities, ensuring new data products are seamlessly integrated into sales booking and execution platforms.
Data Partnerships: Onboard and integrate new data partners, evaluating the commercial viability of external datasets and overseeing their technical ingestion.
Requirements & Specs: Write clear, product requirement documents (PRDs) for new data features.
Performance Tracking: Use BigQuery and visualisation tools to monitor data product adoption and revenue performance, iterating based on real-world sales feedback.
Privacy & Governance: Partner with internal Data Governance teams to ensure all commercial data initiatives adhere to strict privacy standards and ethical data usage guidelines.
What you’ll bring:
3+ years of experience in Data Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or a commercially focused Data role.
A proven track record of delivering products/improvements that drive measurable revenue or business value, with a strong understanding of "data as a product."
An understanding of data structures, SQL (BigQuery preferred), and data pipelines from raw ingestion to front-end advertising platforms.
Experience working in an Agile environment, managing backlogs in Jira, and leading sprint ceremonies.
Ability to perform data exploration in BigQuery (SQL) to validate hypotheses prior to technical development.
Desirable:
Experience within the digital advertising ecosystem, ad sales, or media industries (including familiarity with DSPs, SSPs, Clean Rooms, or Identity Solutions).
Exposure to Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or Data Management Platforms (DMPs).
Experience working with external data vendors or third-party measurement providers.
