- Retire manual, duplicated or low-value processes where controlled automation is available.
- Lead, coach and develop the team through clear objectives, feedback, mentoring and inclusive workforce planning, demonstrating BGE’s values.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Extensive experience in senior data science, advanced analytics or a related role, including people leadership or significant analytical delivery.
- Proven ability to balance urgent business needs with scalable, automated and well-governed capability, supported by resilient delivery, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong practical experience with Databricks or similar cloud analytics platforms, Python, SQL, large-scale Azure or Oracle data environments, Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience across the machine-learning lifecycle, including version control, testing, deployment, monitoring and documentation; generative AI, natural language processing or contact analytics experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of billing, CRM, digital, customer-contact and operational data; Oracle CC&B and Salesforce experience is particularly relevant.
- Ability to work across KPI Reporting, Data Engineering, Data Governance, platform teams and the business to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Strong people leadership, mentoring, prioritisation, negotiation and communication skills, including explaining complex concepts and recommendations to senior management.
- Working knowledge of data quality, GDPR, privacy, responsible AI and model governance, with the ability to partner effectively with Governance, Risk, Security and Legal.
- Experience of leading & managing teams
- Ability to deputise for the Head of the Data CoE when required; experience in energy, utilities or another regulated customer-focused sector is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
