Company Overview:
Prime Medicine is a leading biotechnology company dedicated to creating and delivering the next generation of gene editing therapies to patients. The Company is leveraging its proprietary Prime Editing platform, a versatile, precise and efficient gene editing technology, to develop a new class of differentiated, one-time, potentially curative genetic therapies. Designed to make only the right edit at the right position within a gene while minimizing unwanted DNA modifications, Prime Editors have the potential to repair almost all types of genetic mutations and work in many different tissues, organs and cell types.
Prime Medicine is currently progressing a diversified portfolio of investigational therapeutic programs organized around our core areas of focus: hematology, immunology & oncology, liver and lung. Across each core area, Prime Medicine is focused initially on a set of high value programs, each targeting a disease with well-understood biology and a clearly defined clinical development and regulatory path, and each expected to provide the foundation for expansion into additional opportunities. Prime Medicine is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering Prime Editing, a novel and precise "search-and-replace" gene editing technology capable of correcting the vast majority of disease-causing genetic mutations. Our approach allows us to make virtually any type of genetic edit — insertions, deletions, and all base-to-base conversions — without introducing double-strand breaks or requiring a separate donor DNA template. We are advancing a broad pipeline of Prime Editing–based therapies, including in vivo liver-directed programs and ex vivo approaches for ultra-rare disease, with a mission to develop one-time, curative genetic therapies for patients with limited or no treatment options today.
Position Overview
Location: Cambridge, MA (hybrid — min. 3-days a week onsite)
Reports to: VP, Programs and Strategy
Level: VP
Prime Medicine is seeking an experienced, strategic, and operationally rigorous Development Asset Leader to assume leadership of our in vivo LNP-delivered liver programs as they advance from early clinical development through licensure, beginning with our Wilson's Disease and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency programs.
The Asset Leader will step in seamlessly once a liver program has cleared IND and owns the asset through clinical PoC and regulatory approval/licensure. As Prime's liver portfolio grows, this leader is expected to scale from single-asset ownership into a franchise-level leadership capability, building the processes, governance, and team structure to efficiently deploy our capital to advance multiple concurrent clinical assets.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable engaging with both internal (executive management and Board) and external (regulatory authorities, KOLs, CRO/CDMO leadership) stakeholders as they are running a cohesive cross-functional team, building genuine esprit de corps across a lean organization while holding the asset accountable to timeline, budget, and scientific rigor.
