The Development Engineer 1D grids interprets complex engineering requirements and translates them into robust, high-quality design solutions for advanced medical device components. You play a key role in improving product quality, reliability, and performance, while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and quality standards. You contribute directly to business growth by strengthening Bill of Materials (BOM) quality and supporting yield and process improvements.
Your role
Interpret complex engineering requirements and deliver optimal design solutions for medical device components.
Define and guide robust verification strategies, including test plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Resolve advanced technical challenges across hardware, and system-level components to minimize production downtime and improve reliability.
Evaluate and approve components and technologies from external suppliers, ensuring alignment with Philips quality, performance, and strategic standards.
Contribute to BOM quality improvements aligned with business growth plans, in collaboration with Operations (OPS) and Manufacturing Engineering (ME).
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Present technical findings, design proposals, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting knowledge sharing and capability development.
Drive adoption of engineering best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accelerate time-to-market.
Incorporate insights from testing, user feedback, and market trends to continuously improve product design and competitiveness.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, influencing project outcomes within your area of expertise.
You’re the right fit if
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or an equivalent field.
You bring 5+ years of relevant experience in areas such as system architecture, system design, hardware engineering, or equivalent engineering domains.
You have strong expertise in product development lifecycle management, product design, verification testing, validation testing, technical documentation, and troubleshooting.
You have solid knowledge of quality specifications, regulatory requirements, requirements analysis, and research and analysis in a regulated engineering environment.
You demonstrate strong technical acumen, business acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.
You are comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing internal and external stakeholders, including supplier-facing collaboration when needed.
