The Director, Client Partnerships is responsible for driving new business development, managing client relationships, and growing revenue through the sale of permanent physician recruitment solutions to academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, and healthcare systems nationwide. This role serves as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives and physician leaders by helping organizations address physician workforce challenges through consultative recruitment solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in physician recruitment, healthcare sales, or healthcare workforce solutions and possess the ability to build long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
Job Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
- Source leads within assigned territory through high-volume outreach including phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking, and professional associations.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers, including C-suite executives, physician leaders, department chairs, and healthcare administrators.
- Qualify search opportunities by evaluating market competitiveness, compensation structures, and client hiring needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements that balance client needs with company profitability goals.
- Maintain consistent monthly communication with prospective and existing clients.
Account Management & Client Relationship Building
- Manage and grow relationships with academic medical centers, health systems, physician groups, and healthcare organizations.
- Consult with clients to identify physician recruitment needs, succession planning opportunities, and strategic workforce initiatives.
- Partner with existing clients to uncover additional search opportunities and expand service offerings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales and contract lifecycle.
- Consult clients on the full spectrum of AMN Healthcare workforce and talent solutions.
Market Development & Industry Engagement
- Maintain a high level of personal visibility within the healthcare and physician recruitment industry.
- Generate new lead sources through industry associations, conferences, networking events, and market intelligence.
- Stay current on healthcare workforce trends, physician shortages, and competitive market activity.
- Leverage professional relationships to expand market penetration and identify new opportunities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide targeted coaching and mentorship to team members when appropriate.
- Travel with team members for client meetings, presentations, and business development activities.
- Lead and present at team meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Collaborate closely with physician recruitment teams to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
- Support onboarding and development efforts across the team.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, leads, and opportunities within CRM systems.
- Manage and update business development activities, sales pipelines, and account information.
- Run and review Accounts Receivable reports for assigned division or region as needed.
- Utilize reporting tools and analytics to monitor business performance and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications
Education & Years of Experience
- Associate's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 7-9 years of work experience in healthcare sales, physician recruitment, healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, or related healthcare services.
- Demonstrated success managing client relationships and generating new business.
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior healthcare leaders and decision-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing a defined territory.
Preferred
- Direct experience in permanent physician recruitment sales.
- Experience working with academic medical centers, children's hospitals, cancer centers, teaching hospitals, health systems, or medical groups
- Knowledge of physician workforce trends and recruitment strategies.
- Experience with healthcare search firms, physician recruitment organizations, or healthcare consulting services.
- Familiarity with CRM, ATS, and healthcare workforce technology platforms.
- Existing professional network within physician recruitment, academic medicine, or healthcare leadership communities.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
- Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

Pay Rate
$76,000 - $94,500 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
