DIRECTOR –Enterprise Architect (Cross Tower: Platforms, Applications)

This senior presales enterprise architecture role is central to NTT DATA’s integrated, full-stack go-to-market strategy. The purpose of the role is to design, position, and win multi-tower transformation and managed services deals by bringing together:

• Deep solution design expertise across COTS / packaged applications,
• Strong architectural skills in application-centric cloud and SaaS ecosystems,
• Modern AIOps and Agentic AI capabilities that enhance reliability, automation, and business process efficiency, and
• Cross-tower architectures spanning applications, data, infrastructure, security, workplace and BPO.

The Presales EA acts as the trusted architecture leader for strategic pursuits, translating client business needs into executable architectures that leverage NTT DATA’s capabilities and partner ecosystem. The role integrates next-generation technologies such as Presto, DICE, skan.ai, GenAI copilots and AIOps platforms to maximize solution quality, competitiveness, delivery assurance and value realization.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Account Planning

• Establish the enterprise architecture view of priority accounts, including:
  • Application estate, COTS footprint, SaaS landscape and modernization imperatives.
  • Cloud adoption posture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), integration patterns and operational maturity.
  • Pain points where AIOps, automation and agentic AI can materially improve outcomes.
• Identify multi-tower plays, platform modernization opportunities, and anchor points for managed services and BPO augmentation.
• Shape cloud/application portfolio motions with hyperscalers and SaaS providers.

2. Opportunity Seeding

• Lead workshops and C-suite conversations to shape modern architectures leveraging:
  • COTS modernization and rationalization paths.
  • App-centric cloud migration and modernization.
  • AIOps-driven observability, predictive operations and automated remediation.
  • Agentic AI for application operations, workflow intelligence and BPO augmentation.
• Create value hypotheses and KPI-linked outcome narratives for large deals.

3. Opportunity Strategy & Execution

• Serve as the cross-tower deal architect across applications, cloud, infra, security, digital workplace, and managed services.
• Design integrated solutions that combine:
  • Multi-COTS solution stacks and application modernization strategies.
  • Cloud-native architectures and SaaS ecosystems (ERP, CRM, ITSM, vertical packaged apps).
  • AIOps capabilities (event-log-metric correlation, anomaly detection, automated runbooks).
  • Agentic AI components (process mining, intelligent routing, AI copilots for ops and BPO).
• Work with technical architects to ensure the solution is scalable, secure, commercially competitive and aligned to client governance and risk.
• Shape TCO, pricing structures, value levers and risk-reward constructs.

4. Deal / Bid Leadership

• Lead the architecture workstream for major RFP/RFIs involving applications, COTS, cloud and operations transformation.
• Define:
  • Target state architecture, reference models and transition roadmaps.
  • Operating model, application support model, AIOps model and governance structure.
  • Agentic AI integration layers for operations and business processes.
• Partner with bid, finance and legal teams on commercial optimization.

5. Portfolio Ideation

• Provide thought leadership to evolve cross-tower offerings by integrating:
  • Modern application architectures (microservices, API-led, cloud-native).
  • Next-gen operations (AIOps platforms, GenAI copilots, automation layers).
  • Process intelligence tools for BPO (skan.ai, process-mining, task-mining).
• Benchmark competitive offerings and inform development of reusable assets, accelerators and reference architectures.

6. In-Contract Innovation Strategy

• Drive innovation in large installed bases through:
  • AIOps-based reduction of incidents and MTTR.
  • Agentic AI for workflow automation, change-risk prediction and knowledge augmentation.
  • Continuous application modernization and cloud optimization.
  • Enhancements for BPO delivery using process intelligence, GenAI summarization and copilots.
• Define roadmaps linked to contractual value commitments and measurable business outcomes.

7. Governance & Thought Leadership

• Provide architecture assurance during complex pursuits.
• Represent NTT DATA at client and industry forums on application modernization, cloud, AIOps and agentic AI.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Core Technical Skills

• Strong architecture expertise across multiple COTS applications, including ERP, CRM, industry solutions and workflow platforms.
• Deep understanding of application-centric cloud architectures, SaaS ecosystems and integration patterns (API, ESB, event-driven).
• Hands-on knowledge of:
  • AIOps platforms (event/log/metric correlation, anomaly detection, root-cause analytics).
  • Observability stacks and telemetry pipelines.
  • Agentic AI tools for apps and BPO such as Presto, DICE, skan.ai, and GenAI copilots.
• Ability to design target operating models blending AI-assisted application support, predictive operations and automation-led delivery.

Enterprise Architecture Discipline

• Strong grounding in TOGAF/Zachman, modeling tools and multi-layer architecture design (business, app, data, tech).
• Ability to translate business goals into practical architecture and transformation roadmaps.

Commercial & Storytelling Skills

• Proficiency in shaping managed services, modernization deals, consumption-based models and value-based pricing.
• Ability to articulate differentiated value through AIOps, cloud modernization and advanced automation.
• Strong executive communication and influence.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent; master’s preferred.
• 15+ years experience in applications architecture, COTS/SaaS solutioning, cloud-native architecture and/or operations automation.
• 5+ years in presales or deal architecture roles designing large, multi-tower solutions.
• Proven experience integrating AIOps and AI-enabled automation into enterprise programs.
• Exposure to APAC multi-country clients and global delivery models.
• Certifications in cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), enterprise architecture, and relevant SaaS/COTS platforms are advantageous.
