Job Overview
The Director, Global Network Strategy (EDC) is a senior leadership role within the Global Supply Chain organization, responsible for shaping and executing end‑to‑end distribution and network strategy across regions. This role provides strategic and operational support to global supply chain leaders by translating business growth, resilience, and service objectives into optimized network design solutions.
This position plays a critical role in enabling a scalable, efficient, and patient‑focused supply chain by leading enterprise distribution center (EDC) strategy, capacity planning, and long‑range network optimization. The role offers significant visibility and impact across Inventory modeling, way to serve definition, distribution, transportation, warehousing and Regional Supply Chain teams, supporting DePuy Synthes’ continued global growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the global distribution and logistics network strategy, including enterprise distribution centers (EDCs), regional hubs, and external logistics partners.
Define long‑term network design scenarios aligned with business growth, service level, cost, and risk‑mitigation objectives.
Provide strategic decision support through data‑driven modeling, scenario analysis, and total‑cost‑to‑serve assessments.
Partner with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure network strategies are integrated and executable.
Lead cross‑functional initiatives related to footprint optimization, capacity expansion, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, and major capital investments.
Establish governance, standards, and methodologies for global network design and strategic logistics planning.
Assess external market, regulatory, and geopolitical factors to proactively manage supply chain risk and resilience.
Mentor and develop talent within the network strategy function and foster a culture of continuous improvement and analytical rigor.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Research, Business, or a related field.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Experience and Skills
Required:
10-12 years of progressive experience in supply chain, network strategy, logistics, or operations, including leadership roles.
Proven experience in global network design, distribution strategy, and complex supply chain optimization.
Strong analytical capabilities, including scenario modeling and financial evaluation of strategic options.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional, global initiatives.
Experience operating in a highly regulated environment, preferably within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
Preferred:
Experience supporting large‑scale transformations, network expansions, or footprint rationalization programs.
Familiarity with advanced network modeling tools and digital supply chain capabilities.
Experience working in or supporting EMEA‑based operations within a global enterprise.
Strong change leadership and communication skills across diverse cultures and geographies.
Other:
Languages: Fluent in English (required); additional European languages preferred.
Travel: Up to ~20–30% international travel.
Certifications: APICS/ASCM, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
€119,200.00 - €204,355.00
