What are we looking for?
BetterHelp is seeking an experienced, innovative, and operationally-minded Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to lead our Psychiatry Practice Management team.
This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations, quality assurance, compliance, clinical excellence, provider operations, and product innovation. As a senior clinical leader supporting BetterHelp's psychiatric provider network, you will help shape how the daily behind-the-scenes operations evolve and how psychiatric care is delivered at scale through technology–keeping quality, safety, and regulatory compliance top-of-mind.
You are an experienced psychiatric clinician who understands both the realities of direct patient care and the opportunities technology creates to improve access to mental healthcare. You are obsessed with operational efficiency, systems that scale, and creating a white-glove work environment for our providers. You are equally comfortable consulting on complex clinical situations, analyzing operational data, improving processes, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and coaching team members.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace ambiguity, and are excited by the opportunity to build and scale psychiatric operations as BetterHelp continues expanding its behavioral healthcare services.
This role offers the opportunity to influence psychiatric care delivery for hundreds of providers and thousands of members while helping define the future of telepsychiatry.
What will you do?

- Stay current on evolving telehealth, prescribing, and psychiatric practice regulations and communicate relevant changes throughout the organization.
- Identify trends impacting psychiatric providers and recommend operational improvements.

- Directly manage and develop Psychiatry Operations team members, including Clinical Operations Managers, Quality Assurance Specialists, and Psychiatry Support Specialists.
- Establish team priorities, workflows, performance expectations, and operational goals.
- Coach and mentor team members through complex clinical and operational scenarios.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and development as the Psychiatry Operations function scales.

- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives involving psychiatric care delivery, provider support, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
- Help develop scalable operational processes to support future growth and expansion of psychiatric offerings.

- Maintain a small caseload of psychiatric clients on the platform (approx 2-3 clinical hours per week) to understand the lived experience of our providers.
- Support insurance and payer-related quality initiatives as BetterHelp expands its healthcare offerings.
What will you NOT do?
- You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
- You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
- You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
- You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
