Position Description:
Designs, develops, and engineers enterprise web applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Angular, React, Vue, and Node.js with a focus on middle-tier architecture and cloud-native solutions. Defines and implements scalable application-level architecture using Java, Spring frameworks, and microservices patterns. Builds scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js, Express, and web services (SOAP/REST) while implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy. Provides technical leadership for cross-functional development teams and ensures architecture scalability using cloud technologies and containerization. Translates business vision into technical solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted applications and conducting comprehensive studies of alternatives. Leads strategic technology initiatives across business units while mentoring development teams and advising senior management on technical strategy. Drives technical excellence through leadership, coaching, and strategic planning for future technology roadmaps.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leads architecture design for analytics capabilities and cloud-native application development.
Develops complex enterprise applications, components, and subsystems across multiple cloud platforms.
Oversees technical implementation of cross-divisional architectural components and cloud migration initiatives.
Provides technical leadership and supervision to multiple development teams on organization-wide projects.
Coordinates with internal and external technical resources to produce strategic cloud-based designs.
Champions deployment of major project deliverables and ensures QA readiness of software solutions.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex cloud projects across multiple platforms and environments.
Plans and coordinates project schedules, assignments, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy, cloud adoption, and technology roadmap planning.
Mentors and coaches junior team members.
Researches and recommends new cloud technologies, frameworks, and development tools for strategic implementation.
Performs independent technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting digital transformation initiatives.
Identifies opportunities for organization-wide technology improvements and cloud optimization strategies.
Develops original and creative technical solutions for ongoing development efforts and complex integration challenges.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise web applications in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing enterprise web applications in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building highly available, scalable microservices using LWC, Keel, and Micronaut; designing and implementing cloud native architectures using service mesh, API gateways, and distributed systems; building and optimizing SQL and NoSQL data solutions, including Oracle and Redis; and strengthening application security by implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT authentication, and SonarQube-driven code quality controls.
DE designing end-to-end enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js on cloud platforms; developing RESTful APIs, GraphQL services with Swagger documentation, and Angular frontend solutions to deliver seamless, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces; and enhancing application functionality and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, message queues, and GenAI development tools.
DE developing financial services applications for investment analytics and wealth management using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs; developing ETL workflows, delivering real time financial data analytics, and implementing automated testing, using JUnit, Mockito, and TestNG.
DE implementing cloud infrastructure with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS), load balancing, auto-scaling, and distributed storage; implementing API gateways, maintaining service discovery, applying circuitbreaker patterns, and orchestrating Docker/Kubernetes environments with automated deployments; and supporting Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Redis databases with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub CI, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure rapid, reliable software delivery and minimize system downtime.
