Director Technical Accounting & Oversight
Job Description
The role provides a unique set of responsibilities as you provide your external reporting expertise to our many internal stakeholders.
You role:
- Oversee and provide technical accounting support to Businesses and Functions for major transactions and key quarterly accounting topics;
- Reviewing external financial reporting - Philips Group financial statements and press releases;
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess Business impacts;
- Maintain and deploy the Philips Accounting Manual and other relevant guidance and directives which enable the Businesses and Functions;
- Drive simplification initiatives on accounting and reporting matters, including AI enabled tools and data analytics;
- Owning IFRS training content and delivering IFRS trainings to the finance community;
- Monitoring developments in accounting and auditing standards & projects and translating business impact for Philips.
You're the right fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Certified Public Accountant (RA, CPA or equivalent);
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in finance and accounting, with an emphasis on auditing and financial reporting;
- Project leadership experience and process oriented. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task;
- Strong knowledge and experience of application of IFRS. Ability to understand and explain complex accounting requirements;
- Experience with Dutch GAAP and ability to fluently communicate in Dutch;
- Strong drive for AI enabled simplification;
- Experience with working in a fast paced, international environment;
- Good business acumen, excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
- Confident oral communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills, effective in dealing with people at all levels including ability to interact with senior management;
- Highly motivated and able to manage in a changing environment;
- Comfortable working in a team and independently, willing and able to take on responsibility.
