When people use our technology to "bridge the gap" between the physical and digital worlds, they don’t just capture reality - they create a new one. In this new reality, they are smarter, more productive, more streamlined, and more creative - because they have the digital foundation to build the world they want to live in.
That’s what NavVis offers in all our products and services: the tools to not just map the world as it is, but to pave the way to a better future. To forge something new. Physical or digital, there is only one reality. And it’s the reality NavVis empowers people to build better.
The Electrical Engineering team is expanding to support new projects that bring mobile mapping technology from concept to production. You will join a hands-on team designing and developing custom electronics for NavVis mobile mapping systems, working with advanced PCBs, high-speed signals, power management, and rigid-flex designs.
You will work closely with experienced engineers to build prototypes, develop test setups, characterize hardware, troubleshoot issues, and support the transition from prototype to production. You will also collaborate with Mechanical Design, Embedded Software, Supply Chain, and Software Engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into the product. Your work directly affects the reliability and performance of NavVis products used by customers worldwide.
This role is ideal for someone currently between a bachelor's and master's degree, recently graduated, or between jobs, who wants to build practical experience in electrical engineering and hardware product development.
Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical prototypes, using soldering, debugging, and lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
Design and develop PCBs, including multi-layer boards (4+ layers), high-speed signals, and power management
Build test setups and characterization components alongside senior electrical engineers
Support hardware bring-up, testing, validation, and production ramp-up
Collaborate across Mechanical Design, Embedded Software, Supply Chain, and Software Engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into NavVis products
Document test results and technical findings to support engineering decisions
Improve the reliability, performance, and manufacturability of NavVis hardware
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained through internships, university projects, working student roles, or product development
PCB design experience with tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad
Hands-on prototyping and soldering skills, comfortable working with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
Familiarity with embedded systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and basic programming experience, ideally in Python
Good communication and collaboration skills, needed to work effectively across Mechanical Design, Embedded Software, Supply Chain, and Software Engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with Linux
Exposure to firmware development
Deeper experience with power electronics or hardware characterization beyond entry-level exposure
Experience with test and measurement equipment beyond basic lab tools
