Hut 8 brings exceptional people together to solve the world’s most consequential problems at the intersection of energy and technology. Today, that means building infrastructure for AI at a pace and scale without precedent. Tomorrow, it could mean powering a new era of innovation through robotics, advanced manufacturing, or an industry that does not yet exist. Whatever the technology demands, our ambition holds: to build the defining physical infrastructure company of our generation.
We look for thinkers and builders with the rigor, humility, and ownership to solve problems at this scale. They start from zero and choose truth over tradition. They back the best idea, whatever its source. They bet on themselves and embrace the hard truths that force them to grow. Our commitment is to keep the path from idea to execution short, trust them with critical decisions and the work that follows, and surround them with colleagues whose curiosity extends beyond their expertise.
BUILT DIFFERENT
We believe there's a better way to build. One that moves faster, thinks bigger, and gives people the ownership to challenge what's been done before. We're not here to follow the standard. We're here to set a new one. We don't believe the best work happens inside rigid boxes. People are given real ownership, real responsibility, and the space to operate beyond a title. Scope grows with impact. Responsibility grows with trust. And the people who step up help shape what comes next. We're building an organization around ownership, not hierarchy, where your influence is defined by what you take on, not what's written on your email signature.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The infrastructure is ambitious. The people behind it should be too.
We need an Electrical Engineer who thinks from first principles, questions convention, and wants the weight of owning the outcome. Someone who can design it, stand behind it, solve for it in the field, and build the runway as they go.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
+ Design it: Own electrical systems end-to-end: utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution.
+ Stamp it: Serve as Engineer of Record for one-lines, protection coordination, short-circuit, arc-flash, and related power-system studies.
+ Build it: Stay close to construction, solve field issues in real time, and own the work through commissioning and energization.
+ Challenge it: Push on cost, constructability, redundancy, and third-party designs without compromising safety or reliability.
WHAT YOU BRING
+ Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
+ 7+ years designing electrical systems for data centers, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities.
+ Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and critical power systems.
+ Fluency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower and redundancy topologies including N+1 and 2N.
+ Experience working directly with utilities, equipment vendors, construction teams, and commissioning through energization.
BUILT FOR THIS
If you are mission-driven, ownership-minded, drawn to hard problems, willing to challenge convention, and ready to build the playbook.
If you aren’t waiting for every answer, looking for layers of approval, leading from a distance, attached to “the way it’s always been done,” or looking for just another role.
BONUS POINTS
+ You've delivered data centers across multiple U.S. markets.
+ You've worked with medium- or high-voltage systems, on-site generation, or energy storage.
+ You've worked in an owner-builder, EPC, or self-perform environment where design and construction stay close.
+ You've taken utility interconnection from application through energization.
"People are our greatest differentiator: an environment where high performers thrive, where collaboration drives impact, and where careers are shaped by opportunity, not hierarchy."
