The Role:
Our company is seeking an Electrical and Control Engineer to join our team. The Electrical and Control Engineer is responsible for design, detailing, and documenting, validating and troubleshooting of electrical and electro-mechanical systems used in Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas purification systems assembled at our facility.
What You’ll Do:
Design electrical assemblies, power distribution system and control panels for UHP gas purification systems. Coordinate with the mechanical, software, and control system designers and other engineering teammates.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, panel layouts and engineering documentation to support development and production of systems.
Size and select electrical components, protection devices, sensors, instrumentation and control hardware as required to meet UHP gas purifier system requirements.
Perform electrical load calculations including load analysis, circuit protection, cable sizing, voltage drop reviews.
Support thermal control system design and troubleshooting for heater, temperature sensing and over temperature protection applications.
Support PLC-based control systems through validation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and commissioning activities.
Work with component suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet design requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and improve designs, proposals, and engineering documentation.
Generate and maintain BOMs, routings, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Drive engineering change implementation and continuous improvement activities.
Take ownership of projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, communication, and control system issues both remotely and on-site.
Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing technicians during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA activities, and engineering problem-solving efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Seek:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
Strong understanding of electrical system design, power distribution, and industrial control systems.
Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
Experience with electrical component selection, circuit protection, cable sizing and electrical calculations.
Hands-on experience supporting electrical troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
Familiarity with electrical design standards and codes such as UL508A, SEMI S2, NFPA, IEC, and CE requirements.
Experience supporting FAT, SAT, equipment startup or production commissioning activities.
Experience using CAD modeling program for electrical design and drafting (SolidWorks and Draftsight preferred)
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Experience working with BOMs, engineering drawings, routings, and product documentation.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing (desirable)
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and execute within aggressive timelines.
Able to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
Strong ownership in electrical design from concept through manufacturing release.
Proven ability to support product builds, FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting in a production environment.
Strong documentation and technical writing capability, including drawings, BOMs, test records, and engineering change documentation.
Experience working in a global engineering environment with cross-site collaboration.
Ability to communicate clearly, influence effectively, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and management.
Demonstrated problem-solving mindset with the ability to drive issues to closure independently.
Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced ramp-up environment.
