Role Summary 

Explore Three Unique Data Career Paths: Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data/AI 

Are you passionate about data, technology, and using information to solve real-world business challenges? Join American Century Investments for a 10-week summer internship and gain hands-on experience working alongside talented IT data professionals who are helping shape the future of our business. 

Whether your interests lie in Data Engineering, Analytics, or AI and Machine Learning, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced mentors, and apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. 

This program is for currently enrolled undergraduate rising seniors who will graduate in December 2027 - Spring 2028. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026. 

• Location: this onsite position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO or Southlake (DFW area), TX office. 

• Program dates: June 2nd – August 6th (10 weeks). 

• Work schedule: 40 hours/week - Monday – Friday (8 am – 5 pm). 

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future. 

How You Will Make an Impact 

As an Enterprise Data Intern, you will: 

• Partner with experienced data professionals on projects that influence business decision-making. 

• Explore technologies and platforms used across Data Engineering, Analytics, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). 

• Learn how data is collected, managed, transformed, and leveraged to create value across the organization. 

• Gain exposure to modern cloud platforms, data pipelines, analytics tools, and AI-driven solutions. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve problems, and deliver impactful results. 

• Present project findings and recommendations to leaders and stakeholders. 

Our IT organization supports every area of the business, including Investment Management, Sales, Client Services, and Corporate Functions. Through a combination of cloud technologies, custom-built applications, and industry-leading software, we deliver solutions that help people make smarter decisions with data. 

What You Bring to the Team (Required) 

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.  

• Expected graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028.  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.  

• Coursework, academic projects, internship experience, or personal experience in one or more of the following areas: Python, SQL, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure), Artificial Intelligence (AI), or Machine Learning (ML). 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.  

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.  

• Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and concepts.
