The Esports Graphic Designer Work Study position provides students with hands-on experience creating branded visual content for the ArtU Esports program. Working onsite and reporting directly to the Director, Esports, this role will support the creation of graphics for tryouts, team announcements, match schedules, results, social media, and other program communications. The student will gain experience working within an established brand, responding to creative direction and feedback, and developing professional design practices in a collaborative esports environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the creation of visual content for ArtU Esports across social media, digital platforms, and program communications.
• Create graphics for tryouts, team announcements, match schedules, results, recruitment, player features, and other recurring program content.
• Learn and apply the established ArtU Esports visual identity across program materials.
• Adapt existing templates and design systems for recurring announcements and social content.
• Develop new templates and graphics as program needs evolve while maintaining consistency with the ArtU Esports brand.
• Work with the Video Editor to incorporate photography and other media into branded content.
• Assist with preparing graphics in the appropriate formats and sizes for different digital platforms.
• Organize and maintain working design files, templates, and program assets for continued use.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from the Esports Director.
• Develop hands on experience in brand design, social media graphics, and visual communication within an esports program.
  

Qualifications:

• Interest in graphic design, branding, social media, games, or esports.
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
• Understanding of basic design principles including typography, composition, hierarchy, and color.
• Ability to work within an established visual identity while exploring creative solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Able to manage multiple assignments and meet scheduled deadlines.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on designs.
• Able to collaborate with other student roles and program staff.
• Photography, motion graphics, or video editing experience is helpful, but not required.
• Portfolio or examples of previous design work preferred.
• Interest in games and esports.

Pay Rate : 

$19.61 per hour

Work Schedule: 

Up to 20 hours per week.*

*Federal Work Study work schedules may not conflict with the student's class schedule.

Length of Employment: The student’s starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
