Field Service Technician-1

The Role

Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand’s best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage and ambitious plans. Our origins, curious nature and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique.

Driven by our brand values of being trusted, innovative, generous, curious and sustainably minded, as a team we take a collaborative approach, have a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our leading goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.

The Opportunity

Melbourne, Vic

We’re looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Customer Experience team and represent Fisher & Paykel in one of the most important moments in our customer journey — when we are welcomed into a customer’s home.

This is much more than a technical service role. You’ll combine strong diagnostic and problem-solving capability with the professionalism, communication and care our customers expect from a premium brand.

Working independently in the field, you’ll diagnose and resolve product issues, complete high-quality service and repair work, and ensure every interaction leaves the customer confident in both you and the Fisher & Paykel brand.

This is where you come in

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll take ownership of delivering a consistently high standard of service across your customer visits.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Diagnosing product faults and identifying the right solution efficiently and accurately.
• Completing service and repair work to a high technical and safety standard.
• Working towards effective first-time resolution wherever possible.
• Communicating clearly with customers throughout the service experience — explaining what you’ve found, what needs to happen and what they can expect next.
• Treating every customer's home and appliance with the care and respect expected of a premium brand.
• Maintaining high standards of preparation, presentation, workmanship and professionalism.
• Using available digital tools, technical information and service knowledge to support diagnosis and resolution.
• Keeping your technical and product knowledge current as new products and technology are introduced.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Customer Experience and technical support teams to resolve more complex issues.
• Taking ownership of safety, quality and the overall customer experience from arrival through to completion.

Our service technicians are often the only Fisher & Paykel people our customers meet in their home. That makes this role an important ambassador for our brand and customer experience.

So who are you?

You’ll enjoy the combination of working with technology, solving practical problems and dealing directly with customers.

You’re likely to be someone who:

• Has strong practical and technical problem-solving capability.
• Enjoys diagnosing problems rather than simply following a process.
• Takes pride in the quality and accuracy of their work.
• Is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of customer outcomes.
• Communicates naturally and professionally with a wide range of customers.
• Understands that how you work in someone's home matters just as much as the technical repair.
• Is organised, dependable and able to manage a varied field-based workload.
• Has a strong safety mindset and works carefully and methodically.
• Is curious and keen to continue learning as products, diagnostics and service technology evolve.
• Brings a calm, solutions-focused approach when customers may be frustrated or when the issue is complex.

Most importantly, you’ll understand that great service is not simply fixing an appliance. It is creating confidence, reassurance and a customer experience that reflects the quality of the Fisher & Paykel brand.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, complex global organisation, part of the global Haier parent company and based in Sydney, where you will gain wide exposure across the business. This role has diverse and exciting challenges and the chance to continually learn and develop.

Along with a competitive salary and you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, discounted medical cover, access to our leading Whanau/Family leave offering.  All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand that is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most Trusted Brands… year after year.
