Arta is on an audacious and incredibly rewarding mission: to pave the way for people everywhere to lead more successful financial lives. Arta leverages AI and sophisticated digital tools to make financial products once reserved for ultra-high-net-worth individuals accessible to a broader global audience. Think of it as your own digital family office, combining intelligent investment strategies, alternative assets, private market access, and smart automation to help you grow and protect your wealth effortlessly. We value trust, teamwork, and adaptability.
In this role, you will design and build the backend systems that power Arta's B2B wealth platform — the infrastructure banks and financial platforms use to deliver institutional-grade investment products to their clients. You'll own services end-to-end, from API design to data models to production reliability, working extensively with AI coding agents and LLM-based tooling to ship faster and operate at higher leverage than a traditional backend team.
You'll be embedded with a partner, working alongside their engineers and inside the systems and constraints they already run, and you'll own a partner integration from early design through to production. You will be a technical contact for the partner's engineering and product teams — the person they work with day to day on design questions, debugging across the system boundary, and getting the integration to production.
Partner engagement
Be the technical point of contact for a partner's engineering and product teams — the person they work with day to day on design questions and debugging across the system boundary
Understand how the partner operates and what systems they run on, well enough to design against constraints they haven't articulated
Advise partners on integration and implementation approaches, drawing on your technical expertise and knowledge of the wealth management industry
Document integration decisions and learnings for future engagements
Bring partner signal back to Platform and Product, distinguishing one partner's preference from a pattern worth building for
Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines for partner use cases on Arta's wealth management platform
Make architectural decisions on system design, data modeling, service boundaries, and infrastructure
Write clean, well-tested, observable code, and use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality
Build and integrate LLM and agent-powered backend capabilities where they unlock product value (e.g., automated workflows, intelligent data processing, agent-driven user experiences)
Build reliable, scalable services that integrate with third-party financial systems, including workflow orchestration (Temporal), monitoring and evals, and participation in on-call and incident response
Preferred: partner-facing experience
You've been the technical person in front of a customer or partner — not supporting someone else's meeting, but the one they direct questions at
Able to explain a technical trade-off to a business stakeholder and a technical one in the same meeting
Sound judgment about what to commit to under pressure, and comfortable saying no to a partner without damaging the relationship
Comfortable with ambiguity, incomplete specs, and systems you can't see all of
Comfortable being based at a partner site, and open to occasional travel
And you can build
At least 5 years of backend software development experience, with strong proficiency in Python (or similar)
Deep understanding of distributed systems, RESTful and/or gRPC APIs, microservices, and database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
Strong on integration work: APIs, data modeling, authentication, moving data between systems and organisations
Experience designing for reliability, performance, and security in production environments
Fluency with AI coding tools and a track record of using them to materially raise your output and code quality
Experience building with LLMs and/or agent frameworks (tool use, function calling, MCP, evals) or strong interest and aptitude to ramp up quickly
Prior experience in trading platforms, brokerage systems, or financial infrastructure is a big plus, but not a must
