Forward-Deployed Engineer

### **☀️ About Nowadays:** We're building the future of in-person connection, from an intimate exec offsite to a 1,000-person company kickoff in Cancún. Think about the best work trip you've ever been on. The dinner where your team finally clicked. The offsite where a coworker became a friend. Those moments don't happen over Zoom, and behind every one of them is someone juggling a hundred details: the venue, the flights, the hotel rooms, who's bringing a +1, who's vegetarian, who needs a ride from the airport. Nowadays is the first AI-powered platform that plans corporate events end to end, from picking the venue to the last airport pickup, so the person organizing gets to enjoy the event too. We've brought together teams at Fortune 500s like Google, Airbnb, and BlackRock, and we're just getting started. Our mission is simple: we love bringing people together, and we want to make it easier for teams to create meaningful moments in real life. ### **👥 Who We Are:** We're a sister-founded team based in San Francisco. We move fast, care deeply, and love bringing people together (whether it's a strategic offsite or a Friendsgiving in our Nowadays home). We believe the best teams: * Take ownership * Keep things scrappy * Celebrate wins (big and small) * Genuinely enjoy working (+ hanging out) together Some of our favorite team excursions so far: flying trapeze, steak-offs at home, hauling a Christmas tree up to the office, hitting the spa after a big launch, and racing an Ironman Relay. ### **💼 What You'll Do:** * Be **half builder, half forward-deployed**: own product engineering while working directly with our largest enterprise customers * Meet customers **face to face** through on-site visits, kickoffs and demos, and help them get real value from the product after launch * Sit with customers to scope what they need, then turn it into **shipped product**, so their feedback goes straight into the roadmap * Lead **enterprise engineering**: integrations, security and SSO requests, reliability, and custom workflows for large accounts * Build and harden the **AI agents** that email and call venues, negotiate, and present options, and make them work reliably inside big companies' processes * Own the **overarching architecture**: think about how everything flows through the product, designed from the customer's perspective * Build across the **full stack** (React/TypeScript, Next.js, Node/Python, SQL) ### **🥇 What We're Looking For:** * **3+ years** shipping full-stack products end to end, ideally at an early-stage startup or as a founding engineer * Experience in **forward-deployed, solutions or other customer-facing engineering**, ideally with enterprise or B2B SaaS customers * You genuinely **enjoy talking to customers** and are comfortable leading a client call or an on-site meeting * You can explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders * You've shipped **LLM or AI features** to production * Strong **product judgment**: you can take an ambiguous customer problem all the way to a shipped solution * You like moving fast, taking ownership, and are excited to travel to customers ### **✨ Bonus Points:** * You've founded something, or were an early engineer at a company selling to enterprises * Experience with enterprise integrations, security reviews or procurement, or onboarding large accounts * Experience with voice or email agents, RAG, or workflow automation * Background in events, travel, hospitality or marketplaces ### **🥰 Why Nowadays?** #### **Compensation & Benefits** * In-person in San Francisco, with travel to customer sites * $130K - $170K * 0.5% - 1.5% equity _The amount listed above is the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change._ #### **Interview Process** 15-minute intro call → take-home assignment → 1-hour technical deep dive → onsite #### **All of our employees get:** * Free lunch and dinner * Quarterly team offsites (yes, we went to the _White Lotus_ S3 hotel in Thailand), and exclusive access to top venues and events * Monthly fitness stipend * Health insurance * 12 weeks paid parental leave * Generous PTO * High ownership, autonomy, and direct access to founders * Access to top venues, events, and travel experiences Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
