Founding Account Executive

**About Finta** Finta is building the finance platform startups should have had from day one. Today, startup finance is fragmented. Bookkeeping lives in one place, taxes in another, reporting in spreadsheets, forecasting in someone’s head, and founders are left trying to piece together what is actually happening in the business. We want Finta to become the go-to solution for the entire finance function: accounting, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and real-time insights, all in one place. We raised $2M from Y Combinator, Mercury’s CEO, and leaders at Mercury, Brex, and Ramp. Since launching in 2023, we have grown organically through word of mouth and now serve hundreds of paying customers. We are a small, high-caliber team with a bias for shipping. There are no layers here. You’ll work directly with Andy, the founder, and get close to customers, product, positioning, and GTM. This is a founding role where the scope can expand quickly if you earn trust. We work together in person 5 days a week in San Francisco, near the Ferry Building, and expect people to take ownership without needing a lot of structure. **About the role** We’re hiring a **Founding Account Executive** to build Finta’s outbound sales motion from scratch. You’ll be our first salesperson. There is no playbook, territory, or SDR team to inherit. You’ll figure out how Finta sells, and what you build becomes the playbook for every rep after you. You’ll sell to founders, heads of finance, and operations leaders at seed through Series A companies. **What you’ll do** * Own the full sales cycle: build target lists, write messaging and sequences, run discovery and demos, and close * Run trials. Prospects run a full month-end close on Finta for free to see how it works and compare it to what they use today. Your job is getting them there and converting them * Sell the full platform: accounting, taxes, R&D tax credits, and finance * Multi-thread deals across founders, heads of finance, and operations leaders * Track your funnel: activity, replies, meetings booked, trials started, and revenue closed * Bring what you hear on calls back into product, positioning, and sales * Build the playbook for how Finta sells, so the next reps don’t start from zero **Must-haves** * You think clearly and can cut through a messy problem to what matters * You communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and out loud * You’re a problem solver who figures things out without waiting for instructions * You’re AI-pilled and use it every day, but you know when it helps and when it doesn’t **You’ll be a good fit if you** * Generate your own pipeline and know your numbers, including your conversion rate at every stage from first touch to close * Have carried a quota and consistently hit it * Have sold at an early-stage startup without a playbook, SDRs, or marketing behind you * Write outbound emails that feel personal, sharp, and not spammy * Use modern sales tools to research accounts, personalize outreach, and run a tight system * Are comfortable selling a product that is still evolving, and are honest with customers about what it does today * Are excited to become deeply credible on startup finance, accounting, and taxes **You should not join Finta if** * You need an SDR team, marketing leads, or a proven playbook to hit your number * You want to work a territory someone else built * You dislike outbound * You want to work remotely * You’re not excited about selling to startups and founders * You optimize for activity instead of closed revenue **Why join** * Be Finta’s first salesperson and decide how the company sells * Work directly with the founder * Help make Finta the go-to finance solution for startups * Join a small team with strong organic growth, hundreds of paying customers, and top-tier investors **Compensation and benefits** * The listed salary is OTE (60/40 base/variable) with uncapped commission, plus generous equity * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Meals, gym membership, and professional education benefits * Monthly team events and annual company offsite * Visa sponsorship and relocation support available **Important** In addition to applying, please email andy at finta dot com with: * One deal you sourced and closed on your own, and how you did it * Your conversion rates at each stage of your last outbound motion **About the interview** We aim to go from first call to offer in two weeks or less. 1. Intro call (30 min) 2. Working session 3. Case study: mock discovery call and demo 4. References and time with Andy 5. Offer Visa sponsorship is offered for this role.
