Position Summary
Decima International is seeking an experienced Freelance Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy secure and maintainable web applications.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience across both frontend and backend development, content management systems, databases, authentication and authorization, API development, deployment, and production support.
The selected engineer will be expected to take technical ownership from initial assessment through implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, training, and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess existing web applications, codebases, and technical environments.
- Design and develop scalable and maintainable frontend and backend solutions.
- Integrate existing frontend interfaces with backend services and content management systems.
- Develop and maintain APIs and application business logic.
- Design and implement database structures and data models.
- Develop secure administration dashboards and content management functionality.
- Implement authentication, authorization, session management, and access-control mechanisms.
- Integrate enterprise identity solutions such as Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365 Single Sign-On.
- Implement role-based and/or attribute-based access controls.
- Develop secure content and document management functionality.
- Configure user roles, permissions, and administrative access.
- Implement appropriate application security, validation, logging, and error handling.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Ensure responsive behavior and cross-browser compatibility.
- Support SEO, analytics, and performance requirements where applicable.
- Configure development, staging, and production environments.
- Work with internal IT stakeholders on hosting, identity, permissions, security, storage, and deployment.
- Maintain source code using Git and appropriate version-control practices.
- Implement or support CI/CD and deployment workflows.
- Perform functional, integration, security, browser, and responsive testing.
- Support User Acceptance Testing and resolve identified defects.
- Deploy applications to approved production environments.
- Provide clear technical and administrator documentation.
- Train relevant administrators or content editors where required.
- Complete full source-code, configuration, credential, and technical handover.
- Provide an agreed post-launch support and warranty period.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software or full stack web development experience.
- Strong experience developing production web applications.
- Strong knowledge of frontend technologies including:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React, Next.js, Angular, or comparable frameworks
- Strong backend development experience using one or more of the following:
- PHP / Laravel
- Node.js
- .NET / C#
- Python
- Comparable modern backend technologies
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs / Web APIs.
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as:
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with CMS development or integration.
- Experience with WordPress, headless CMS platforms, or custom CMS solutions.
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization.
- Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Understanding of Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) or comparable permission models.
- Understanding of secure web application development practices.
- Experience with Git and source-control workflows.
- Experience deploying applications to production environments.
- Familiarity with Linux/VPS, cloud, or managed hosting environments.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong English communication and technical documentation skills.
A successful engagement should result in a fully functioning backend, completed frontend/backend integration, deployed production environment, tested APIs and forms, source-code handover, technical documentation, access/credential handover, and a defined post-launch support period.
