Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we work, collaborate, learn, and solve problems. We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Specialist, AI Adoption & Enablement to lead the human side of AI transformation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people learn, adapt, and embrace new ways of working while translating emerging technology into practical workplace solutions. Reporting to the Associate Manager, Employee Learning and Development and working closely with the Director, Artificial Intelligence, you will partner with leaders, employees, and departments across the College to build AI capability, foster responsible adoption, and enable meaningful workplace improvements.

Your work will have a direct impact on organizational effectiveness, employee capability, and the future of work at Algonquin College.

What You'll Do: As a trusted advisor, you will help employees and leaders understand how AI can be applied responsibly and effectively to improve how work gets done.

Key responsibilities include:

AI Capability Development

• Design and deliver engaging AI learning experiences, workshops, and development programs.
• Create practical resources such as playbooks, prompt libraries, job aids, and self-service tools.
• Assess organizational learning needs and recommend approaches to build AI capability.

AI Advisory and Consultation

• Partner with departments to identify opportunities where AI can improve processes, productivity, collaboration, and decision-making.
• Facilitate discovery sessions and AI accelerator workshops.
• Coach leaders and teams on practical applications of AI in the workplace.

AI Adoption and Change Enablement

• Support the College's AI Experience Lab and encourage experimentation with approved AI technologies.
• Help identify and overcome barriers to adoption.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and responsible AI use.

Knowledge Sharing and Resource Development

• Develop reusable tools, templates, workflows, and implementation guides.
• Capture and share successful AI use cases from across the College.
• Facilitate communities of practice that encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Strategic Partnership and Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with Human Resources, Information Technology, academic schools, and administrative departments.
• Monitor emerging AI trends and identify opportunities that support institutional priorities.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the College's AI enablement strategy.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Minimum four-year degree in Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Education, Adult Learning, Change Management, Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
• Relevant certifications in change management, organizational development, adult education, project management, or artificial intelligence are considered an asset

Experience:

• Five (5) years of related experience in:
• Supporting the adoption of AI, digital technologies, or emerging technologies.
• Consulting with leaders and employees on process improvement, capability development, or technology adoption.
• Facilitating workshops, learning programs, and group problem-solving sessions.
• Creating practical learning resources and supporting organizational change initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, generative AI applications, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.
• Knowledge of organizational change management, adult learning principles, capability development, and workplace enablement.
• Strong consultation, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and support diverse employee groups and People Leaders.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess operational needs and recommend practical AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop learning resources, guidance materials, and presentations for varied audiences.
• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and discretion when working with sensitive operational information and advising departments on AI adoption.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across academic and administrative areas.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and experience using AI-enabled productivity tools, collaboration platforms, learning technologies, and knowledge management systems.
