Dave's World is one of Maine's leading home services companies, known for our expertise in heat pumps, heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical, and energy-efficient home solutions. With seven locations across Maine, we've built our reputation on quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and taking care of our employees.
As part of the Sila Services family, we have the resources and support of a growing organization while maintaining the local relationships and culture that have made Dave's World successful.
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead our operations across Maine. This is an opportunity for a strong business leader who knows how to grow a company, develop people, improve processes, and drive profitability.
The right person will have experience managing a multi-location operation, understand the financial side of running a business, and be comfortable working closely with sales, service, installation, and support teams.
We're looking for someone who can balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution, hold teams accountable, and build on the success Dave's World has already established.
Business Operations & Financial Performance
Take ownership of overall business performance, including revenue, profitability, budgets, and P&L management.
Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth, improve margins, and increase operational efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators, including revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, average ticket, close rates, and customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, control costs, and improve productivity.
Oversee daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and accountability.
Work closely with regional and corporate leadership on business planning, forecasting, and long-term growth initiatives.
Sales & Business Growth
Partner with sales leadership to drive performance, improve conversion rates, and maximize revenue opportunities.
Identify opportunities to expand services, increase market share, and grow existing customer relationships.
Ensure sales and operational teams are aligned on customer expectations, scheduling, and execution.
Monitor lead conversion, sales performance, and installation capacity to support sustainable growth.
Build a culture focused on delivering solutions that meet customer needs rather than high-pressure sales tactics.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop managers across sales, service, installation, and operations.
Establish clear expectations, measurable goals, and accountability throughout the organization.
Build a strong leadership team capable of supporting continued growth.
Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR on staffing, retention, succession planning, and employee development.
Foster a positive, performance-driven culture where employees feel supported and have opportunities to grow.
Maintain strong communication and collaboration across all locations.
Customer Experience & Operational Excellence
Ensure customers receive a consistent, high-quality experience from their initial inquiry through project completion.
Oversee service delivery, installation quality, scheduling efficiency, and workforce utilization.
Address operational challenges proactively and implement solutions that improve performance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, licensing requirements, and company policies.
Maintain the reputation and local relationships that have made Dave's World a trusted name throughout Maine.
7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or residential home services.
Experience managing multiple locations, branches, or a geographically dispersed operation.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated P&L ownership and experience managing budgets, revenue, and profitability.
Proven ability to grow revenue, improve operational performance, and develop successful teams.
Experience leading sales, service, installation, and operational functions.
Strong understanding of KPIs, labor management, scheduling, capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
Ability to lead through change while maintaining employee engagement and a strong company culture.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar field service management platforms is a plus.
HVAC or home services industry experience strongly preferred; technical trade experience is helpful but not required.
Ability to travel between Dave's World locations throughout Maine.
We're looking for a leader who takes ownership of the business and treats it like their own. Someone who understands the numbers but also knows that the people behind those numbers are what make a company successful.
You'll be successful if you can build strong relationships with your teams, identify opportunities for improvement, make sound business decisions, and create an environment where employees and customers want to stay.
This isn't a position for someone who wants to manage strictly from behind a desk. We want someone who is visible, engaged, approachable, and willing to roll up their sleeves when needed.
At Dave's World, you'll have the opportunity to lead an established and respected Maine business while helping shape its next chapter of growth. You'll work alongside experienced teams, have access to the resources of Sila Services, and play a meaningful role in building a stronger business for our employees and customers.
If you're a proven leader who enjoys developing people, improving operations, and driving results, we'd love to hear from you.
