Job Description:
Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a GIS Utility Model Analyst or Senior to join our Informational Technology team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the safe, reliable, and affordable energy they depend on. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
What does a GIS Utility Model Analyst do for us?
The GIS Utility Model Analyst supports the accuracy and integrity of the company's enterprise GIS and electric system digital twin by maintaining, analyzing and updating geospatial and electrical network data. Working closely with engineering, operations, dispatch, design, and field teams, this role ensures GIS models accurately represent real-world electric infrastructure from generation to customer meters. Responsibilities include editing and maintaining GIS data using ArcGIS and ArcFM platforms, processing as-builts, redlines, and construction updates, performing data quality validation and electrical model analysis, supporting operational and outage management systems, and producing maps and technical deliverables for internal stakeholders. This position applies GIS expertise and foundational electrical system knowledge to support safe, reliable utility operations while ensuring geospatial data remains accurate, current, and aligned with enterprise standards and business needs.
In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state.
