Float is on a mission to simplify finance for Canadian businesses, empowering them to eliminate complexity and unlock new opportunities. Through our innovative platform, Float enables businesses to streamline financial operations and optimize cash flow, so they can focus on what matters most: growth.
As one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and top-rated startups in 2025, 2024 and 2023, Float is customer-obsessed, passionate and entrepreneurial, with a team that includes leaders from Uber, Stripe, Shopify, Top Hat, Ada, Doordash, Snowflake, and Wealthsimple.
At Float, everyone is an owner, bringing their unique perspective to our team and product. Your voice is important, and we take having a culture based on feedback seriously. We openly share our thoughts and differing opinions so we can continue to improve. We do our best to keep our decision-making decentralized so that all team members feel ownership in our success.
Float is Canada’s intelligent financial operating system, combining modern financial services and software to help businesses spend, save, and grow. Trusted by more than 10,000 Canadian companies, Float provides high-limit corporate cards, automated expense management, next-day bill payments, high-yield accounts, and industry-leading support, all built in Canada, for Canada. Float recently announced our $85 million Series C, and is backed by world-class investors, including Inovia Capital, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, OMERS Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank.
Our team is a collection of ambitious, collaborative and mission-driven people from all walks of life but with one goal: helping Canadian companies not just survive but thrive. And we’re looking for bold innovators to help shape the future of business finance in Canada.
We use technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to support parts of our hiring process. This may include AI-assisted scheduling and candidate communications, and AI-generated interview notes, guides or summaries to help our team focus on the conversation. All hiring decisions are made by our hiring team.
Float’s partnerships channel is one of our newest growth motions, and the one with the most room to run.
Accounting firms, affiliates and technology platforms already use Float as one place to manage their clients’ financial operations while growing their own. The foundation is strong. The playbook is still unwritten.
As Head of Partnerships, you’ll report into our SVP of GTM and own the partnerships channel end to end: how we find and win partners across all three types, how we build a community that makes them want to stay, and how what they tell us shapes the product roadmap. You’ll take partnerships from promising to a meaningful share of Float’s growth.
Build a multi-year partnership strategy with clear milestones tied to revenue and strategic value.
Create the processes, playbooks and infrastructure to scale from a handful of partners to dozens.
Set the targets and reporting. You define what a great channel looks like, then hit it.
Find, win, activate and grow partners across accounting and bookkeeping firms, fractional finance teams and investor networks.
Own the full deal cycle, from first conversation to signed partner.
Design one-to-many distribution and enablement programs so one partner relationship reaches hundreds of clients.
Start with the firms that bring the most reach, then widen from there. Once a partner is live, work with Sales to accelerate revenue through them.
Run the programs, events and community that make partners better at their jobs and make serving clients easier.
Track what each partner type delivers, and double down on what works.
Own how Float shows up for partners, in their language, alongside Marketing.
Carry market intelligence and partner feedback back into company strategy and roadmap.
Work with internal stakeholders to clear whatever slows partners down.
Grow a small team, shape it around where the channel is today, and decide where you stay hands-on.
8+ years in partnerships, channel or ecosystem growth in B2B SaaS, fintech or payments, including building a partner program from the early stage
Proven ownership of a partner funnel end to end (sourcing, conversion, activation, expansion) and fluency in the numbers behind each stage
Comfort being the public face of a program: building community and representing us with external partners
A marketer’s instinct for positioning a product for a specific audience, ideally professional-services firms
Experience leading a small team
Working knowledge of how accounting and bookkeeping firms operate
Willingness to travel regularly across Canada for events and partner visits
Strong command of AI tools, as both a user and a builder
Nice to haves
A network in Canadian accounting, bookkeeping, VC or PE circles, or a background as an accountant or bookkeeper
French proficiency (an asset, not a requirement)
You need an established playbook and a large team before you can do your best work.
You would rather manage a channel from the sidelines than meet partners yourself.
You prefer a narrow, single-function remit. This role spans marketing, sales and product.
You're not energized by feedback or fast-paced change.
We hire for character, curiosity, and learning velocity before credentials. Titles matter less than impact, and every hire is expected to raise the bar for Float as a whole.
Be part of an award winning company: we're one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies 2026 according to Report on Business, and Deloitte’s Technology Fast50 2026
Make a real impact in a high-autonomy, high-growth role
Collaborate with an ambitious and supportive team
Competitive compensation, equity options, and benefits
Hybrid work model: we are based in Toronto with in-office days for connection and collaboration
Enjoy catered team lunches every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Bring your pup to our dog-friendly office
Thrive in a high-trust, high-performance culture where your work truly matters
At Float, you’ll thrive if you’re bold, curious, and eager to make a real impact. We're building something special—and having a lot of fun along the way. If you’re excited to build, grow, and win together, we’d love to meet you.
We’re committed to building a workplace that’s welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you need any accommodations during the hiring process or once you join Float, just let us know! You can reach out to Vic (victoria@floatfinancial.com), and we’ll work with you to make sure you have what you need to succeed.
