Multiply Labs is a robotics company on a mission to solve a significant bottleneck in modern medicine: the manufacturing of life-saving advanced biologics, from gene and cell therapies to antibodies and more.
Today, these therapies are produced through manual, labor-intensive processes. Costs are extremely high—often $500K–$2M per patient—limiting access to only a small fraction of those who need them.
As product complexity increases and the cost of failure and scientific labor rises, the industry is shifting toward automation. Robotics and AI are making automated biologics manufacturing feasible, reliable, and economically scalable.
We believe the future of biomanufacturing is robotic—closed, automated, and scalable—ensuring critical therapeutics are accessible to every patient who needs them.
Why This Matters
We don’t just build robots—we’re building the essential infrastructure for next generation biologics. Our technology enables biopharma companies to scale production without redesigning their science, reducing regulatory hurdles and lowering costs so these treatments can reach more patients.
The Mission: Build the world’s best robots to make life-saving therapies accessible to all.
The Technology: Advanced robotic orchestration, high-precision automation, cloud-integrated hardware-software systems, dextrous manipulation, and imitation learning.
The Location: Headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
The Backing: Supported by premier investors, including Casdin Capital, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator.
Define, communicate, and execute the long-term product strategy and roadmap for our automated advanced biologics manufacturing systems, aligning platform development with key commercial milestones.
Partner closely with the CEO, hardware, software, bioprocess, and quality leadership to drive a cohesive product vision, architecture, and product requirements.
Hire, mentor, and scale high-performing product and biosciences teams.
Oversee the Biosciences team in defining biological product requirements, executing internal cell testing, and partnering directly with pharma customers to analyze pilot data and demonstrate process comparability.
Make decisive prioritization tradeoffs balancing custom customer requirements, core platform standardization, and ongoing engineering improvements.
Collaborate with Business Development, Strategic Alliance Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure product readiness for customer deployments and platform launches.
Drive systematic customer discovery, market analysis, and user interviews across the biopharma landscape to identify unmet clinical manufacturing needs and emerging industry trends.
8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years directly managing and scaling a team of Product Managers.
Proven track record leading complex hardware-software products—specifically involving robotics and electromechanical systems.
Demonstrated success taking complex, technical products from concept (0-to-1) through deployment and commercial scale.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
Superb executive communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability startup environment.
Hands-on proficiency with project and product management frameworks and tools (e.g. JIRA, Asana, SmartSheets).
Additional preferred qualifications:
Prior experience within biotech, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or other regulated development environments.
Experience navigating joint development milestones, pilots, and acceptance criteria with customers and partners.
Familiarity with advanced therapy (cell and gene, antibody, etc.) manufacturing or bioprocess development.
Experience incorporating computer vision, machine learning, or AI capabilities into products.
Occasional use of PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves) for customer site visits and deployment walk-throughs.
Standard full-time schedule, with occasional evening/weekend flexibility required around critical customer deployments.
Competitive Compensation: Salary range of $220,000 – $290,000 plus meaningful early-stage equity. We want our team to have a real stake in the future we’re building.
