Job Description
Design, code, test, implement and maintain high-quality software solutions to meet internal business and external customer needs. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable and secure applications.
As a technical contributor, apply established engineering practices, participate in architectural discussions and continuously improve code quality and development processes.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
Application Software Development
- Contribute to development of existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Contribute to development of new applications to meet customer requirements.
Applications Software Maintenance
- Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
Design and Conceptualization
- Research and interpret data, trends, and benchmarks relevant to digital products/services design.
Technical Developments Recommendation
- Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
Application Software Road Map
- Maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
Faults Diagnosis and Correction
- Provide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
Documentation
- Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard.
Testing Information Technology (IT) Performance
- Perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
Operational Compliance
- Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
Information Security
- Implement required security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems.
Horizon Scanning
- Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be"
- Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
Technical Database Support
- Monitor and report on distribution of database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent.
- Strong C# capability.
- Relational database development capability.
- Willingness to learn and intellectually ambitious.
- Experience in Wealth management or financial systems is an advantage.
- Experience in microsite development is an advantage.
- Experience in containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Ruby).
- Basic understanding of web application development and associated frameworks.
- Ability to work with databases, both relational and NoSQL, and write basic SQL queries.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
