What you'll be doing

As a member of the Internal Audit team, you’ll work with a group that champions strong controls, risk management, and governance by providing best-in-class assurance and advisory services to help our Bank achieve its strategic ambitions. As a Co-op, you will contribute to delivering core audit services and work as part of a multi-skilled audit team to conduct risk-focused audits of various business processes & operations. You will participate in identification of internal control weaknesses and advise clients of efficiency or effectiveness opportunities. You will work with team members to plan and/or conduct risk-based audits, identifying potential control weaknesses that may prevent a business from meeting its objectives.

The role also requires preparing concise, accurate documents, balancing project management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, and communicating potential conflicts to leadership. Through day to day activities, you will also actively demonstrate support for CIBC’s purpose to help make client and employee ambitions a reality.
