About Norm Ai
Norm Ai, the agentic law company, has a client base with a combined $30 trillion in assets under management.
Norm Ai pioneered Legal Engineering, the process that empowers lawyers to build and supervise domain-specific AI agents with Norm’s proprietary suite of no-code software tools. Norm Ai technology is deployed inside many of the largest and most consequential institutions in the world.
Norm Ai is also the technology behind Norm Law, LLP, a separate but affiliated AI-native law firm built for the era of agentic AI. Norm Law’s attorneys advise leading institutions across private funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, registered funds, and financial regulation, using the same legal intelligence platform that powers Norm Ai’s products.
AI Fluency:
Norm Ai prefers all team members to be fluent in AI. Successful candidates actively use AI in their day-to-day work to support thinking, creation, and problem-solving. They use it to improve the quality and speed of their work and to continuously refine how work gets done end-to-end.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate and discuss their AI usage throughout the interview process, including concrete examples of tools, workflows, and outcomes. We look for practical, hands-on experience, not theoretical familiarity.
As Junior Counsel, you'll work directly with and report to Norm's Head of Legal and Managing Partner of Norm Law, LLP, and closely collaborate with the Head of Norm Law Operations. This is a true generalist role supporting the full legal function at Norm Ai and the legal and operational needs of Norm Law, spanning corporate, commercial, employment, IP, and data security, as well as the business and go-to-market operations of an AI-native law firm.
This role is designed for an ambitious lawyer who wants broad practice-area coverage and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. You'll sit at the intersection of law and AI and see firsthand how the future of legal practice is being built, take on meaningful responsibility early, and grow into a trusted right hand to the Head of Legal.
Success in this role requires excellent judgment, exceptional organization, discretion with sensitive matters, and the range and curiosity to move fluidly across legal disciplines and between legal and business problems.

JD and barred in at least one state (NY preferred), with 2–3 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and / or in-house at a high-growth company
A generalist by inclination, meaning you want broad coverage across corporate, commercial, employment, IP, and data privacy / security rather than a single area of practice
Strong corporate / transactional foundation, with the range and curiosity to pick up adjacent areas quickly
Exceptional judgment, discretion, and ownership; you will need to be trusted with sensitive corporate, personnel, and client matters
Pragmatic and business-minded; you find the path to “yes” with appropriate guardrails and are comfortable supporting a commercial / GTM function, not just providing legal review
Highly organized and systems-oriented, with a low-ego, action-oriented mindset and no task too big or too small
Exposure to startup equity, employment matters, IP, data privacy, or venture financings
Familiarity with law firm operations or professional-services go-to-market
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and what it means for the future of legal services
Complete onboarding and develop a deep understanding of Norm Ai and Norm Law, their structures, and the governance between them
