Overview
Join a highly visible engineering team responsible for the technology that powers M&T Bank's ATM and TCR ecosystem, supporting millions of customer transactions annually. As a Technical Engineer IV supporting ATM and TCR technologies, you will serve as a technical specialist and senior engineering resource across the platforms, applications, and infrastructure that enable critical customer-facing banking services.
This role works at the intersection of systems engineering, automation, application deployment, infrastructure design, platform support, and customer experience. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing vendor-provided ATM and TCR software platforms and related technologies, while providing technical direction for complex initiatives and helping establish engineering standards and best practices across the environment.
While this is not a traditional software engineering role focused on building applications from scratch, the position requires advanced technical expertise and the ability to evaluate complex systems, develop automation solutions, lead technical troubleshooting, influence platform design, and translate business and functional requirements into reliable technology solutions.
One of the most unique aspects of this role is the ability to see the direct impact of your work. Whether leading a platform upgrade, deploying new ATM functionality, improving a customer-facing experience, strengthening platform stability and security, or introducing automation across the environment, your contributions will directly influence a technology channel used by customers every day.
This is an excellent opportunity for highly experienced systems engineers, technical engineers, infrastructure engineers, platform engineers, and systems administrators who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, providing technical leadership, working with modern automation technologies, and developing deep expertise in a highly specialized area of financial services technology.
